I sat and bawled on the beach for a good three hours. We all cried, actually. Owl and Shadow's were limited, but there were a lot of tears for those two. Ivy and Rain were like me. We were wrecks.
Another hour later, when we had stopped crying, Ivy said quietly, "I see people. We need to move."
I sniffled and stood up on shaky legs. Ivy didn't need to be the leader. "Let's go, guys." I looked at our tear stained faces. "Rain, clouds?"
Rain nodded and summoned the clouds covering the sky, which was darkening. We let the clouds lift us, and I collapsed as soon as we were airborne. The tears only came in drops, but inside I felt as if they were drowning me. I didn't care that the people Ivy had spotted were gaping up at us. I didn't care that Rain was deciding where we went next. I didn't care even when we landed in front of a sign that said Welcome to Wyoming. I wasn't present when Ivy and Rain practically dragged me up a mountain. I wasn't aware that the gang made camp and hunted, all without me and my visions. I had no idea that food and water was shoved down my throat.
I was snapped out of my trance when a vision flashed acrossed my mind. It was short, quick, barely more than a picture. I scrambled to my feet, shaking my head as if shaking off an annoying picture. The others shot up and bundled around me, unsure of what had drawn me back.
"I-I saw Zip," I spluttered. "She was in a-a cage, with an IV in her arm."
Everyone perked up and started asking me questions only my super brain could comprehend at once. But everything was slurred right now, and I was only able to answer some.
"Was that all?"
"That was it."
"What was her face like?"
"Devastated."
"We're there other people?"
"She was the only one."
"Where was the setting?"
"A white room."
They kept coming, but eventually I was able to shut them all up. By now, my brain was working just fine. I was back.
"Ok guys!" I said, clapping my hands together and then rubbing my face fiercely. "We need to go back to Florida. And we need to find out where that ship took Zip." My chest ached as I said her name, but my voice was steady.
"How are we going to do that?" Ivy asked defiantly, crossing her arms over her chest.
I rolled my eyes. "Have you forgotten who I am?"
"Well obvious-"
"I'm Bookie Paige! I'm going to find a way."
