So Rain could turn into elements. Another awesome power for our team. Owl was feeling quite left out, though he used his single ability to its best use. We tried to make him feel better, but to no avail. He was just trying to act like he was okay, though I knew he wasn't.

I even asked Zip. "He isn't," she had sighed. "But he doesn't want us to worry about him."

So we had gone along with our second week, and Rain had carried us back- though this time not on a cloud, but herself. She could shape shift into elements. So we rode the Rain-cloud. And she went fast, too. Faster than she had carried us before. We got to our designated meeting place, this time in Virginia, before Shadow.

He appeared in front of us, looking like he wanted to tear out his hair. We all took a step back at his riled expression. "Shadow, the heck is wrong with you?" I asked.

"Trying to stay sane without anyone to talk to is hard," he said calmly, smoothing down his hair. I smiled and nodded, but the others were still distrustful of Shadow. They glared at him, and didn't talk to him.

I clapped my hands together and rubbed them. "Well!" I said. "Let's go rob ourselves a bank- we're broke." Their grins spread wide. I knew they wouldn't oppose of my decision to allow Shadow to stay- they trusted me too much. But while they looked like they had forgiven them, they stayed away from him on Rain in cloud form.

"Can we go to New York?" Owl cried. "Please!"

I closed my eyes and visions of us idly walking down streets filled with people flooded my mind. A smile flickered onto my face. "Why not?"

Owl grinned and summoned up a bluebird, which perched on his leg. He stroked it's back and stared into the sky, smiling still. We rode in silence as Rain carried us to New York. We would rob the nearest ATM and stay at fancy hotels for- I closed my eyes and watched- the next three weeks.

Rain set us down in an alley, and shifted back to her normal self. She flipped her orange hair behind her back and strode forward, seeming confident. We followed behind, and Zip kept giving strange glances to a lot of people.

"New Yorkers have strange thoughts," she explained to my curiousness. I nodded and continued forward. Rain stopped in front of a bank, and went straight to the ATM. We crowded around her, shielding her from onlookers, as she hacked the machine. I watched as one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve one-hundred dollar bills spit out into her hand. Rain turned around and handed them to me. I neatly tucked them under my belongings in my backpack, zipped it up, and headed for the nearest fancy hotel.

Shadow shadowed and went inside. He came out a few minutes later to tell us the path was clear. "He isn't lying," Zip assured us, and we went in.

I walked up to the counter, and a lady looked up at me. "May I help you?" she asked, going back to typing on her computer.

"We'd like to know the best deal you can offer us for a week-long stay."

"Where are your parents?" she queried.

I waved a hand. "They want us to learn responsibilities on our own. They are across the street."

She huffed and stopped typing. "It's ninety-three dollars a night, five-hundred for a week." I smiled at her and unzipped my bag, neatly pulling out five of the bills. She watched in awe, and was amazed even more so when I placed them in front of her.

"Will that be enough?" I asked sweetly.

She nodded. "What may I put the name under?"

"Furth. Hilary Furth." She nodded and typed it into her computer. Then she handed me a key and watched with amazement as we strutted to the elevator, got on, and went up.

I let out a pent up breath. "That was close."

"Too close," Ivy murmured. I laughed and leaned against the wall. "What?" she questioned. I just shook my head and walked out as the doors slid open.

We entered our room and gasped.
