Ivy maneuvered her small chair made of vines around trees, keeping her eyes on Owl. He would stop, sniff around, and then howl and keep going.
Zip was looking really worried. Actually, they all were.
Bookie was their leader, their reason to keep fighting. Bookie was the only reason they weren't in the hands of the Black Jackets. Ivy saw Zip glance at her, and tears sprang to both of their eyes. Ivy wiped them away. She had to be tough until they found Bookie.
Her thoughts kept wandering to all of the time Bookie had saved them.
She had been in the hands of the BJ's. They were dragging her towards the door. Bookie had launched herself over a balcony 75 feet up to save her.
Bookie had gotten them out of the hands of the Black Jackets when they had first met.
Bookie had been nice enough to let Shadow stay.
Bookie had punched a doctor in the nose to make them let Shadow go.
Bookie hadn't allowed Owl to die when he had been mauled by Robo-Bears.
Bookie had attempted to take down a Robo-Albatross when they took Zip.
Bookie had saved them all. Countless times.
Now it was time to return the favor.
