These freaks-

Ok, so I can't be one to talk, but . . . These weirdos?

Nope.

These pirates!

There we go. Us freaks and weirdos aren't pirates.

Anyways, these pirates had no idea who they were dealing with. "Ivy, I need you to do something new!" I yelled over the wind rushing in my face.

"What is it?" she asked back.

"I need you to try to make plants carry us!"

"What?!"

"You remember that movie Epic? Where the queen made the plants appear instantly and carry her? Like that!"

She kept running, not saying anything, and suddenly a giant tree lifted all of us into the air, rising higher. The bus squealed to a stop at it's trunk. We stopped running let Ivy concentrate on bringing us into the air. It seriously felt like flying.

The first gunshot whizzed passed Shadow's head. It would have hit if I hadn't used my super smart brain. "Ivy!" I screamed, causing the growing to stop and the girl to fly onto her belly. We all ducked down as several other shots flew past.

I took that moment to read the future.

Ivy would make the tree eventually carry us down, and we would continue running. Then Rain would summon a huge thunderstorm, and it would snow enough to stop the bus, and we would live our lives.

My eyes flew open and I rolled to the side as a bullet shot through the canopy, right where I had been a moment ago.

"Ivy, slowly make the tree lower us down!" She nodded. "And Rain, make a huge thunderstorm, and also make it snow enough to cause the bus to have to stop!" Rain nodded and made the storm start around us, staying away from our tree.

Ivy pointed her hands down, making the tree decrease altitude at a pace that was too fast for my liking. We were very close to the ground in a matter of minutes.

By the way, right then, we were in a desert. At the edge of Cali. No cities. No buildings. No people, even.

Just us.

Oh, and the crazy psychos chasing us.

Typical, everyday mutant freak life!

Ivy slowed the tree down enough so we could jump off, and then did something my vision hadn't predicted.

She made the tree literally punch the bus.

And it went flying.

At least three hundred feet back.

Landing on it's roof.

I burst out laughing, buckling over from lack of breath. Ivy smiled, and Rain had tears in her eyes because she was laughing so hard. She took short gasps for breaths, unable to breath more. Shadow and Owl were also having a hard time breathing.

Yes, we laugh at this stuff.

Deal with it.

When we all regained our breaths and were able to somewhat walk, I forced Rain to try to lift us up with clouds. Very thick clouds. It was just as fun as riding a giant, bus-punching tree. She almost, purposefully, dropped up a few times, giggling when she did.

That's Rain.

We rode all the way to Florida, Ivy and Rain taking turns carry us with their powers. It was awesome.

"Welcome to Florida," I said, grinning.

We dismounted our clouds and strode into the state.
