The Sad Truth

So you dont hate me?

I skipped breakfast and stayed in nervous about the game. I was a beater but the captain had me practice the seeker position since Draco got hurt and I was nervous. "How am I possibly going to beat harry potter" I mumbled to myself.

"Thats not going to happen yang, Gryffindor will win" says Fred as he and george walk into my room.

"How did you get in?" I asked them while I was looking for my gloves

George held up the map "Thanks to this baby we know the ins and outs of the school and who is where" we looked at the map and saw that Emma and Ava were on their way up. I shoved fred and george in my closet at the same time they walked through the door.

"Lilian are you excited! its your first time playing the seeker are you nervous" asked Emma walking towards my closet and I stood infront of it.

Ava looked at my closet and ignored it "You'll do great Lilian trust me you practiced hard and we will be there to support you. Not that you care but Draco is okay and out of the infirmary" she says looking at me.

I smiled "it was just a scratch of course he will be ok" i scoffed looking away from her

"Dont pull that Tsundere crap with us" says Ava.

Emma joined in "Yeah when he got hurt you practically ran over to help him" she squealed.

Rolling my eyes I pushed them out the door "if you excuse me I have a game to get ready for" I say "and i already told you yesterday that I owed him and i was repaying it" they chuckled not believing me. When they left I opened the closet door letting george and Fred out.

"Its not like that" They both said to me mimicking my voice. I shoved them out of the room too but they abruptly stop and turn towards me.

I looked up at them and they gave me a quick group hug "good luck today Yang" they yelled out before walking out of my room.

The clouds and rain made it hard to spot the snitch, I spent most of the game dodging quaffles and bludgers. I saw Harry fly up over the clouds and I spot the snitch, I was trailing behind him and caught up to him we were going after the snitch side by side I reached for it and almost caught It when I saw dementors flying around harry. The brooms started to freeze and so did my goggles, Dementors were chasing after him, when I got closer to him I saw him falling off his broom and I rushed towards him. Everyone in the stands were screaming and gasped as they saw harry fall, I took out my wand from my boot and pointed it at him Arresto Momentum I said making his fall slow down, he eventually landed on the ground but it was nothing serious. I let out a sigh of relief and dove down to help him. A dementor suddenly appeared in front of me knocking me off of my broom and I started falling. I started reaching for my broom but I kept falling further away from it, I started to pass out due to the cold.

"Immobulus!" was the last thing I heard before passing out.

A few hours later

I slowly opened my eyes as I heard arguing "Hermione that monster ate scabers" It sounded like Ron's voice.

"You should take better care of your pet Ronald" Hermione?

There was shushing "keep it down you two, save the love quarrel for later" said Fred, maybe george? I don't know but it was one of them. I slowly sat up and saw Harry sleeping on the chair next to my bed. Bed? I looked around and saw that I was in the infirmary with bandages wrapped around my ankle and felt a few bandages on my face.

"He stayed there waiting for you to wake up to thankyou" said Hermione noticing me look at him. I moved to get up but fell back, I was too weak to move "don't" said Hermione helping me sit back up "your body will feel weak for a while due to the amount of spells people used on you"

I looked up at her "spells? what do you mean? I remember falling and someone yelling Immobulus" i questioned her and she along with the others smiled.

"You see after you saved Harry everyone cheered and looked to see if he was okay and that distracted us. We didn't notice the dementor was near you, we seen Draco take out his wand and thought he was up to no good. When we looked up you were already falling fast and he casted the freezing spell on you. That slowed down the falling process, the Hufflepuff section quickly pulled out their wands and started casting spells to help lessen the impact of the fall. Raven Claw and some Gryffindor second years teamed up to conjure bushes to break the fall, although you ended up spraining your ankle. Malfoy even took the liberty of caring you the infirmary" Says George.

"Plus the Hufflepuff's and other houses brought you chocolate frogs since they are your favorite" says Fred eating some of the chocolates. I smiled widely and teared up, I was happy that people were wiling to help especially Draco.

The gang stayed for a while but had to leave and make curfew "Bye guys, goodnight and stay out of trouble" I say winking at them and they laughed.

"We should be saying that to you" laughed out Harry "on a serious note thank you for saving me" he said hugging me and I hugged him back feeling warmth.

I patted his back and let go "don't worry about it" I said smiling at them while they walked out the door. I laid back down and looked at a beaded friendship bracelet that I made with Draco when we first met. He doesn't hate me after all I thought looking at it, my tears started flowing freely. I was happy everyone wanted to help, I looked over at the basket and saw cards from various students thanking me for helping them and others wishing me a steady recovery. I looked in the pile of sweets and saw a box decorated in the Slytherin colors. I picked it up and gasped looking in the box they were chocolate chip cookies. How? The only person who knows I like these are...

"I knew you still had a soft spot for those" I quickly turned to look in the direction the voice was coming from. I stared at him with my mouth agape "Don't act so surprised to see me, I came to see how you were feeling, I don't particularly care, I was just returning the favor" he says pointing at his scratched up arm.

I smiled shyly "I'm fine, I feel much better, Thank you" I said looking up at him, he just nodded and sat by me. I was still shocked and kept staring at him, tired of the awkward silence I play with the bracelet in my hands "Thankyou for saving me" I say not being able to look at him "I mean for noticing I was falling if you didn't notice me it would have been too late and I probably would have-" I couldn't finish what I wanted to say because I started to choke up. I brought my knees to my chest and cried silently. I felt the bed move beside me and looked up, Draco was face to face with me and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear then cupped my face with his hands and wiped my tears with his thumb. I snuggled into his hands but quickly stopped when I realized what I was doing, I pulled his hands away from my face "Please" I whispered "please, don't act like you care, don't be nice to me. I don't want to be let down when you hate me again tomorrow" I said staring into his eyes.

Draco cupped my face again "Do you think Id be here if I didn't care Ili" he said using the nickname he gave me when we were kids. "I didn't just notice you fall, I was watching you the whole time. I couldnt just sit there and watch you die, you were my best friend I couldn't let anything bad happen to you, yes I said things that I regret but I haven't been able to forgive myself for being an asshole to you for all these years. Today made me realize how important you are to me, when you left when we were kids I couldn't help but think it was because of me. After you were gone I was lonely and became more impressionable on my parents ideals" he squeezed my hands to comfort himself "our first year when you fought back I didn't realize it was you until I looked at your green eyes, I was happy I got to see you again but I realized you hated me and I tried to push you away the past three years but it was hard. When I saw you being chummy with the Weasleys I was jealous and wanted to have you in my life again, I'm sorry, I know an apology cant patch things up but can we start over" I sniffled drying my eyes out and nodded. I stuck out my hand out for him to shake.

"I'm Lilian Evans, nice to meet you"

"Pleased to make your acquaintance I'm Draco Malfoy" he said shaking my hand.
