The Sad Truth

Dance Party

"So, you gave Malfoy a sneak peak of you-" I smacked Fred in the back of his head "ouch woman, your true colors are showing" I smiled at him feinting innocent. He rubbed the back of his head "how are you going to polish the silverware? I thought they used magic to clean the dishes" he says.

I shrugged my shoulders "I honestly don't know, all professor snape said to do was go in there and look for Dobby" the boys nodded. We opened the door to the kitchen "since I already know him it won't be hard" as I said this he ran up to me.

"Miss Evans! I missed you, it's been so long since Dobby seen you!" He said enthusiastically hugging me.

I chuckled and hugged him back "Dobby, I missed you too, please I told you to call me Lilian or ili" he nodded and mumbled an apology.

"Ili?" Asked george looking between me and Dobby.

"It's what Master Draco used to call her" the twins looked in my direction and continued to ask unbearable questions

"What else did Draco say about Lilian "Asked Fred, I glared at him then Dobby answered.

"He is very fond of Miss Ev- Lilian" he says correcting himself "he would say how much he missed her and how he regretted those awful words he said to her many years ago" Dobby said sadly but suddenly perked up "I did overhear him talking with his friends, please Miss Lilian be careful" he says dragging me to the table in front of a stack of forks, plates, spoons and any other silver item one could think of.

I looked over at the boys who were just as confused as I am "Sorry boys I'll meet you later in front of the painting" I slightly yelled and they gave me a thumbs up.

An hour later

Dobby was humming and I swore I knew the song, I looked over at him "Dobby what song are you humming?" I asked him

He beamed at me "you would always sing this song whenever you'd wait for Master Draco to meet you in the garden, I never knew the words but I'd hum it whenever I'd think of you" I smiled at that and blushed when I realized what song it was. "Could you sing it again?" He asked.

I looked at the fork I was polishing "I'm not sure Dobby" I said blushing harder remembering how I always thought of Draco when I sang this song.

"Oh, please, it'll mean so much to me" he says bringing his hands together giving me the puppy dog eyes.

I sighed loudly and stood up "ok Dobby just once" I said closing the kitchen doors he jumped up and stood on the table humming the intro. I joined in rather nervously "We were both young when I first saw you, I close my eyes & the flashback starts, I'm standing there on a balcony in summer air" I softly sang out as the rest of the kitchen elves were watching me."See the lights, see the party, the ball gowns See you make your way through the crowd And say "Hello", little did I know" I continued.

I grabbed a spoon and held it like a microphone and sang out "That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles And my daddy said, "Stay away from Juliet" And I was crying on the staircase, Begging you "Please don't go", & I said Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone I'll be waiting; all that's left to do is run, You'll be the prince & I'll be the princess, It's a love story baby, just say "Yes"" At this point I was dancing like those teenaged girls in movies and so did Dobby and the rest of the elves, we were having a dance party now.

The two hours were up and I said my goodbyes to Dobby and everyone "bye, I'll see you guys later please take care" I said walking to the door.

Dobby ran towards me "Lilian! Don't forget your robe" he says handing it to me I nod a thank you as he hugs my legs "come back and visit us another time, we enjoy these dance parties" I hugged him and promised I would.

I was waiting for Fred and George in-front of the painting "Good Heavens! A Slytherin, what are you doing here? No entry for non Gryffindors" said the fat lady.

I scratched the back of my neck and smiled at her "I'm sorry ma'am, I'm just waiting for Fred and George. If you'd like I could wait somewhere else" she looked shocked with my response, but something seemed to interest her

"Now, why would a sweet young lady as yourself do with those two rascals? and would you please give me your name" she says looking at me quizzically.

"We met on the train cart and became friends nothing more and nothing less, and my name is Lilian Evans" I stated as she put on a shocked expression.

"Lilian, I should have known, why else would a Slytherin be here. I thought those two were playing a prank on me but when I asked others in the house they said nothing but wonderful things about you" she says opening the painting to let me in. I began walking when she stopped me "Lilian wait, thank you for protecting not only Gryffindor kids but also other houses kids" I looked up and smiled at her thanking her again and complimenting her dress before walking inside.

I see Harry and Ron in the common room whispering to one another and I crept up behind them "Boo!" I yelled causing them to both jump out of their seats. I was on the floor laughing with tears coming out of my eyes.

"You're mental woman, why give us such a scare" I shrugged my shoulders and sat next to them.

We sat there staring at one another, well it was more like Harry and Ron were staring at me "Um, how did you get in here?" Asks harry. I told him that the fat lady let me in "She what!" He exclaimed "she won't even let Nevele in when he forgets the passwords, and she's known us since we were in our first year" I shrugged.

"She said she talked to Fred and George and also confirmed if I was safe by other people so she let me" I said to both of them and they still stared at me with a shocked expression. "Speaking of the Twins where are they?" I asked trying to get the attention off me.

Ron sighed "they are in their room "planning"" he said in air quotes "I don't know what for, but all I know is that it isn't good" he says covering his eyes with his hands. He looks towards the stairs suddenly, me and Harry quickly looked and saw the twins covered in powder.
