I wake up and look at the clock. It's 8 am. I lay back down and think about last night. I wonder If Shawn's okay. What if he died or something? Well, he's already dead but still, who knows.
My phone vibrates and I look to see who texted me. It's from my mom. It reads "Come downstairs breakfast is ready." I get out of bed, put my hair in a ponytail and go downstairs.
When I enter the kitchen, I see Sammy eating waffles and my mom putting some eggs on a plate. "Good morning," I say.
"Good morning, Jo." Jo is my middle name, my mom calls me it sometimes. I sit next to Sammy at the island and my mom hands me a plate with two waffles and eggs. "So I was talking to our neighbors, the Norman's, and they invited us to dinner at their house, tomorrow night." My mom says.
"Sounds good," I say taking a bite of my eggs.
All of a sudden It gets cold again. Shawn must be here. He's not gone, that's good to know. I smile and take another bite of eggs. "We need to have the air conditioner looked at, I mean one second it's cold the next it's warm. It's crazy!" My mom throws her hands up in frustration.
"Yeah, it is," I smirk.
"Maybe, it's a ghost." Sam jokes.
I try to laugh, he has no idea.
My mom turns around to look at us. She's against anything supernatural or alien-like. She's started her opinion on the shows I watch many times. "You know what, I wish. An exorcist is probably cheaper than an AC repairman."

After breakfast, I run back up to my room, finding Shawn laying on my bed. "So you're alive."He looks up at me. I instantly cringe at the words that just left my mouth. "Sorry, that was the wrong choice of words." He lays, back down. "Are you okay? This is the quietest you have ever been and I've only been here for a few seconds." I walk over to my bed and lay down next to him. I put the blanket over me so I'm too cold.
"Yeah, I'm just really weak, I was visible for too long yesterday. I'll have to go in a minute." He says, looking at the ceiling. I can tell he isn't lying. He's even more see-through than normal, I can hardly see him.
"So, I'm guessing you figured out how to appear and reappear?" I ask him.
"Oh yeah, I figured that out last night." He says like he forgot to tell me.
"You know, this is the first time I'm seeing you and it isn't night."
"I guess I'm starting to like your company, Jo." My heart gets butterflies hearing him say my nickname. He must have heard my mom call me it.
"Likewise, I guess."
We both lay there looking at the ceiling, not saying anything. The quiet is kind of nice. The only thing I can hear is the sound of my breathing. You would imagine just laying here would be awkward but somehow it's not. Even though I've only known Shawn for a few days, I feel comfortable with him already.
Shawn looks over at me, "I should go," he whispers, "I'll come back tonight though."
"Oh okay, I'll see you soon then, I guess." I turn my head to Shawn but he is already gone. I take a deep breath before getting up to get ready for the day.
