On the way home from ouheads, I tried to play romantic songs, like Love Story, I Don't Dance and Take On The World. I am really starting to like Jace. He's romantic and a really good guy.

We get out of Jace's car and he walks me to my door. "I had fun tonight," I say blushing.

"Yeah, I did too."

"So, am I a Coos Bay citizen now?" I giggle.

"Well, let's see, you went to the beach, check. You went to the Ice Cream Parlor, check. You went to the steak house, check. And lastly, you saw the best sunset in Oregon, check." We stop in front of the door and Jace turns to me, smiling.

"Well, I guess your job here is done then." I put my hands behind my back.

"Yeah, but I have a new mission." He steps closer to me and I step closer to him.

"Oh yeah? And what's that?" I look up at him and he was looking down at me. We had the biggest grins on our face.

"I can't tell you, it's a secret." Jace leans in to kiss me.

Then a big gust of wind hints us, our hair starts blowing like crazy. The lights start flickering. I look down and Jace backs up. "I should go inside," I say.

"Yeah, I should go too." He kisses me on the cheek and starts to walk away.

"I'll text you!" I yell at him.

He turns around and starts to walk backward. "You better!" He yells back, winking.

I unlock the door and quickly walk inside. "Mom!" I yell. For the first time ever I actually wanted to talk to her about boys and tell her all about my date I had tonight. But she didn't answer. I run upstairs and check my mom's room but she wasn't there.

"Sam!" I yell walking to his room. I open the door and see him playing Fortnite on his computer.

He turns around and takes off his headset. "What?" He yells at me. I could tell he was angry I didn't knock.

"Dude chill, where's mom?" I ask him.

"She had to take an extra shift, apparently there was a boating accident and they were really busy."

"Oh okay." Sammy turns back around and I shut the door slowly.

I get back to my room and set my backpack on my desk. I walk over to my window seat and get on my phone. I needed to tell someone about what happened tonight. I try to FaceTime Reece but she doesn't answer.

Who could I call? I scroll through my contacts and FaceTime my friend Laurel. It rings for a few seconds before she picks up.

"Hey! Oh my gosh, I feel like we haven't talked in so long! How's Oregon?" My friend with curly brown hair asks.

"It's pretty good, it's no Miami though. Also, we've been texting a lot."

"Yeah, well, I haven't seen your face in forever."

"True, well do you have time I need to tell you something."

"Yeah, I have time, I was just watching Supernatural."

"That's my girl," I say pointing my finger to her. "Well, you know that boy I've been telling you about, Jace."

"Of course." She gasps. "Wait did something happen?"

I tell her about the whole date not leaving one detail out. "So yeah, that was probably the best date I've ever had."

"Wow, that sounds magical." She laughs at the way she says 'magical.'
