We park in the parking lot, while Jace is bopping his head to the beat of I'm Yours by Jason Maraz. "You ready for the best steak in the world?" He asks. He was excited for me to try the steak but to be honest, I'm more of a grilled chicken girl. I'm not going to tell him that though. He turned off the car and the music stopped.
"Yeah, this is actually the first time I'm eating out in Coos Bay." I lean down and grab my tiny black backpack, from the floor of the car.
"Seriously?" Jace was shocked. I've been here for almost 3 weeks, but we just haven't had time to go out.
I laugh at his face. He had his hand on his chest and his jaw was dropped. "Yeah, my mom works all the time and she likes to cook. So we don't eat out a lot." I say laughing.
We get out of the car and Jace waits for me to come around, to meet him. Then we start walking to the restaurant. "Well, then, it's my pleasure to take you to your first restaurant, in Coos Bay." He smirks.
When we walk into the restaurant, it had a clear steak house vibe. "Table for two please." Jace says holding up two fingers.
"Right this way sir." We followed a lady to our chairs. She sat the menus down on the table "Here you go." She says walking away.
I put my backpack on the back of the chair and turn back around to Jace who was staring at me. "You look really beautiful." He smiles. I start to feel heat on my cheeks, and blush.
"Thank you." I look down at the table in embarrassment.
"No, no, no, don't be embarrassed. You are amazing, Gracie. You need to know that." I look back up and at this point my cheeks are tomato's. I bite my lip and smile. "There you go." He chuckles.
We stare at each other for a few seconds but I break the weird trance by grabbing my menu. "So, the steak is good, huh?" I ask.
"Um, yeah." He picks up his menu and looks at the options.
A few minutes later the waitress comes and takes our orders. I get steak with salad, and Jace gets steak with fries.
"Lets play a game." Jace Suggests and leans forward on the table.
"Ok." I say In a sassy tone and lean forward like he does, resting me elbows on the table.
"You tell me something I don't know about you and I'll tell you something you don't know about me." He pauses thinking. "I'm a Aries."
"Sagittarius." I say tilting my head and biting my lip.
"My favorite show is Lost." he says with a serious face. I laugh leaning back in my chair.
"Are you serious? You like that show even knowing how it ends?" I say and lean back on the table.
"Shhh, don't say anything." He laughs. "It's your turn."
"Right, I have a huge celebrity crush on Tom Holland!"
"Oh no, are you one of those girls who only go see a marvel movie because he's in it?" He rolls his eyes.
"What? So now you can talk, but u can't?" I say, pointing out when he made me stop earlier. "And I liked marvel long before spider man ever appeared. But I really did like Andrew Garfield's spider man, I think his plot was better."
"What? No! Tom Holland's is so much better because it's actually In the MCU and he's actually with MJ not Gwen!"
"I'm not going to argue with you. It's your turn." I say.
"I love sports, when Im stressed it helps me a lot to get my mind clear."
"Um, I'm afraid of heights."
*After Dinner*
We get back into Jace's white Jeep and he starts the car. "So am I officially a Coos Bay citizen?" I ask buckling my seatbelt.
Jace looks behind him making sure he can pull out. "Not just yet, we have one more thing to do and we are about to be late."
"Oh my gosh, ok." I whisper picking up the AUX, to plug in my phone. I choose to play Endgame by Taylor Swift feat. Ed Sheeran.
*five minutes later*
After my second song we pull up to another beach. "Jace, I don't have a swim suit and I'm not skinny dipping with you." I joke knowing that's not what we were doing.
"Ha ha." He says sarcastically. "Just follow me."
We get out of the car and I follow him up a hill not far from where we parked. "Okay close your eyes." Jace says.
"Um, what?" I don't know how I feel about him leading me up to the middle of nowhere.
"Come on, don't you trust me? I won't do anything I promise. Just close your eyes." I roll my eyes but finally put my hands over my them.
My eyes were closed as we walked. I could tell the hill started to turn into a bunch of large rocks, the closer we got to to the water.
"Okay one more step." Jace moves my body to face another direction. He then moves to my right. "You can take your hands down now."
I take a deep breathe and slowly put my hands down. "Wow!" The sun was setting and I could see so many colors. There was pink, purple, red, yellow, blue, and orange. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. The clouds made it look like a fantasy. It was as if I was looking at a painting.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Jace asks astonished by what he was seeing in front of him.
"It's magnificent, I've never seen anything like it." I don't take my eyes off the sun, it was setting so fast.
I turn my body to Jace but my I lose my footing. Jace immediately grabs me, making sure I don't fall of the cliff. When I gain my footing back, I realize my hands are on his chest. I could feel the muscles under his shirt. I noticed that he was a lot taller that me. I stared into his eyes and he did mine. I took a slow deep breathe but was careful to not make a loud noice.
My eyes drifted to his pink lips. I started to get butterflies. He leaned in more and so did I. Our lips collided and I moved my hand up to his hair gripping it.
We break apart and look back at the sunset that was already gone. I lean my head on his chest as his hands wrap around my waist holding me. It felt so magical and calming.
We watch the sky for a few minutes before I push away. "Are you ready to go." Jace asks, with a soft voice. I nod. He steps down onto a lower rock and sticks out his hand. I grab it and we both make our way down the hill, holding hand.
