Trying again- ok maybe not

The next say woke up at about six thirty in the morning with cold feet. I blinked and shuffled to my feet looking for the biggest fattest socks I could find.

The problem with me is that I’m either too cold or too warm a night. I must have gotten my feet out in the middle of the night to cool off. (I mean doesn’t everybody?)

The blanket covered me until my ankles, the other half lay on the floor. I scowled at the blanket for a bit. Stupid blankets... I glanced around and suddenly remembered yesterday’s events. If only I had gone to that place and found out what he worked as... but then again that was pretty stupid- after all, after watching all those movies where some dumb girl or guy follows the note and dies I was pretty hesitant about doing it my self...

But then again again it was in the middle of a crowded cafe so I would have died in front of everyone... still.. I didn’t really want to die. Life is hard isn’t it.

Slowly, I wandered off to the bathroom and glanced around, the mirror was steamy showing- (my amazing detective skills once again) somebody... Evelyn in other words... had taken a bath or shower. Hmmm... the shampoo didn’t smell too bad.

If only his shampoo smelt bad. Life would be so much easier.

I made my way down the stairs and walked into the kitchen where Evelyn sat drinking a cup of strong coffee and reading a newspaper. He didn’t look as polished as usual. He had slight bags under his eyes, his hair looked messy... as if he had run his hands through his hair multiple times. It didn’t look like he had slept through the night, but he still wore suit which meant he was ready for work.

I very slowly made my way the refrigerator and poured in some orange juice into my glass and grabbed myself a chocolate chip cookie.

“Weren’t we only supposed to stay here for a week...?” I asked suddenly, Evelyn’s silver eyes snapped to me and lingered there for a bit before snapping back to the finished cup of coffee in his hands.

“We’ll stay here until I say so.” He muttered, he sounded like I had insulted him in some manner. Evelyn stood up and glanced at me again as if only just realising that I was still wearing my sleeping clothes, an unreadable expression on his face.

“Why aren’t you dressed?” He asked slowly placing his cup down on the table ever so slowly. I glanced at him, his sudden concern concerned me.

“Erm.. well I’ll just stay home today-”

“You’re not going to go out and try and find that... idiot- are you?” He growled, interrupting me, I glanced at him. I shook my head quickly, the look in his eyes scared me. And that was an understatement. Though I didn’t really know which idiot he meant.. Jacob or the guy who wrote the note.

“No... I was just going to... stay here or maybe...” I trailed off.

“Go outside.” Evelyn finished off his voice monotone but still lower than usual. I hadn’t realised Evelyn walking towards me, he seemed to tower over me. I could smell the coffee in his breath, I shuffled away a little making out that I was placing my cup into the sink.

“Go change.” Evelyn took my wrist firmly leading me towards the wardrobe. I decided not to complain, his eyes were literally warning me not to say anything.

“You know it was probably just a joke that note-”

“Hazel. Just...” He looked frustrated as if not knowing what to say. “Be quiet.” A silence filled the room, I tried to shove my hands in my pockets before realising that I didn’t even have pockets.

A few minutes later I was ready, wearing an over sized, fluffy, cream jumper with a coffee drawn on it, I wore brown jeans with it and my boots debating in my head whether I needed a belt or not.
