She was so fragile. She laid in the tub, looking completely lifeless. The only thing that told us she wasn't dead, was the non-stop cracking sound of her tiny bones. I could feel the pain she was going through and it made me sick. I could feel Tyler trying to reach for Nina but found nothing. Nina was trying too hard to keep Nala alive.

I waited for Nala to wake up. It seemed like days since I had seen her beautiful eyes light up, but they had only been closed for minutes.

I could feel the pain in Tyler's heart and at the thought of that I could feel an ache in my chest. "ALPHA?" one of my warriors yelled at me. I glowered at the blatant sign of disrespect but she quickly fixed herself and her head lowered. "Sorry Alpha, but your mark, its disappearing." She murmured. Without thinking I rushed to the mirror and sure enough, my mark was fading from sight. Slowly, but surely. I could not lose her. Not now. Not ever. I needed her in my life.

"To the pack hospital!" I said, my Alpha tone breaking to the surface. We carried her together, trying not to move her too much as we entered the pack hospital.

After laying her on a bed, we waited. None of my warriors slacked in posture, or showed emotion. That's what they were trained to do. I, on the other hand, was on the verge of losing my mate. I didn't give a fuck about how people might see me as weak, I knew I'd be weak if I lost her.

We waited for 49 hours before I became incredibly disturbed and increasingly worried about my future Luna. Two days, and an hour had passed. I had swapped around my female warriors so they could sleep but I did not rest myself.

I trusted this doctor. If I didn't trust James with my life, I would have asked for a female doctor. James and I had known each other for years. He was my father's best friend. I grew up with him. Yet the smirky smile that was plastered on his face was quiet irritating and oddly strange. I had never seen him smile while he was working before.

As he worked about her and around her, my eyes didn't leave her face. Any movement in any muscle, I was gonna see it.

But I didn't. There was nothing to see. She didn't move. At all. We waited. She slept.

She was and looked peaceful. I was and am gonna kill that doctor if he doesn't stop glancing at her breast.

The doctor met my gaze and shook his head. "I don't think she has much time. Her wolf is strong but she is not." He murmured. Anger bubbled to the surface within me as I tried to calm myself. How could this 'doctor' call his future Luna, and mate of his Alpha, weak? I always had this idea that doctors were smart. Either that or this doctor was suicidal.

I snarled and let my claws and canines appear. Tyler and I were both fighting for control and we settled as half human, half beast.

"What are you saying James? What? Is she weak? ARE YOU CALLING HER WEAK?" I yelled. Instantly my warriors were holding me back. "Help HER!" I yelled as my warriors dragged me out of the ward.
