Chapter Twenty-Five: Things Get Awkward

I was in a deep sleep until I heard a knocking on the door. It stopped for a moment giving me a chance to start to fall asleep. Then light exploded into the room. I turned over and was momentarily surprised at my surroundings. It took me a moment to realize that I was in Nico’s room still. I was still slightly confused until I remembered the events from the previous night.

I turned to look at Nico who was wide-eyed and staring at whoever was in the door. He had a large red welt on his neck and it took me a moment to realize that it was a hickey…

“Oh. My. God.” Annabeth said from the door. My gaze snapped that way. Annabeth and Maria both stood there gaping at us.

I looked to Nico, hoping for some sort of help. He just looked back at me. I looked down and realized that I was wearing only a bra… so I quickly covered my body with the thin sheet on the bed.

Maria smirked. “Well, Annabeth. I do believe that you owe me twenty dollars.”

Annabeth giggled then said, “Wow, Maria, you were right. They did do it a lot sooner than I thought they would have.

“Well… we were just coming to see if Nico knew were Zoe was… but I guess we found her. You two can carry on, we’ll meet up with you later.” Maria said, making me blush redder than a tomato.

They both giggled uncontrollably as they left. I still sat there, clutching the sheet to my body staring at the door. “Well, that was definitely something fun to wake up to.” Nico stated, smirking.

I looked at him, incredulous. “Are you serious? You’re not the least bit embarrassed?”

He laughed. “No, why would I be?”

I blushed more. “Um… I don’t know. It’s just… I don’t know. But, I think it’s time for me to get up and go see what they wanted.”

“Do you have to?” Nico asked, running his hand up my arm.

I sighed. “As much as I would love to stay,”

“Then just stay for a bit.” His brown eyes were melting my will.

I smiled. “Maybe just a little bit longer.” I smiled and leaned down towards him.

His lips brushed mine, then we started to kiss. It was a lot less intense than the night before, but still just as good. Just as the kiss was deepening, there was another knock on the door. Nico groaned loudly and rolled over on the bed so that his face was in the pillow. I got up and pulled my yellow shorts and shirt back on. The knocking continued. “What?” Nico shouted.

“I would like a moment with you, Nico.” Chiron’s voice sounded through the door. I jumped back from the bed.

“Um… one second.” His voice cracked slightly on the second syllable of ‘second’.

“What do I do?” I mouthed to him. He just shrugged his shoulders as he threw cloths on. I did the same, until I started to hear the door open. Nico only had pants on, and I only had on a large t-shirt. The door opened and I dove behind one of Nico’s shelves.

“Nico, I would like to speak to, if you would give me a moment.”

“I would rather just get this done with; I have a lot to do today.” Chiron said, sounding annoyed.
