Chapter Sixteen: Well, Didn’t See That One Coming

I stared at the t-shirt in wonder and my new tattoo in horror. I had a feeling that Chiron would want to see this, but first I was going to ask Connor, Annabeth, Nico, and Maria, maybe even Travis. Even if Connor was mad, he was going to talk to me. I looked around the room. Maybe the dresser was could give me more than cloths? “Medical Wrap.” I said, when I opened the drawer, it was empty. I cursed out loud. “A Bandana.” I said, and this time when I opened it, it was stuffed with more bandanas than I could count. I randomly picked one and wrapped my left wrist with it.

I got changed as quickly as I could. I rushed out of the Big House in search of them. I ran into the Athena cabin. I got a couple of hostile glares from about all of them. I could tell they didn’t like me. I looked around the room and spotted the person I was looking for, “Annabeth! I need you to come with me. Now.” I turned and left, knowing she was right behind me.

“What’s wrong?” she asked.

“I’ll explain later.” I said. “Hey, why did all of them hate me?”

“They don’t hate you.” Annabeth said.

“Oh, please. I know they hate me. Why?

“They don’t hate you. They just don’t know anything about you. And that kills them. They know we are keeping stuff from them and that makes them frustrated.” She said. I nodded.

I ran into Cabin 11, my old home. Annabeth stayed at the door. I walked over to Travis’s bed. He was still sleeping. I pushed him… gentle-ish. He tumbled off the bed. “Oops.”

“Zoe!” he grumbled. “What do you want?” he asked annoyed. “Connors not here, if you’re looking for him.”

That stopped me short, but I brushed that aside for the moment. “I need you to get Maria and tell her to meet us at the pavilion. You can come to, I guess. But hurry. I have to talk to you guys. Oh, and where is Connor?” I asked.

He looked like he really didn’t want to tell me this, but he did anyways. “Well… he was really upset the other day and… well…”

“Travis! Please!” I yelled at him.

“He said he was going to the… Aphrodite cabin. But I am not going there. He’s just lucky that they let him anywhere near there cabin. But they do not like me. And I am not going to let you talk me into going over there to get another permanent make-over, thank you very much!” I almost laughed, but I did crack a smile.

I walked out the door and started walking towards Hades Cabin. “How are you even walking by yourself?” Annabeth almost yelled.

“Uh… I got a little visit from Apollo this morning.” I said.

Annabeth giggled. “Ew. You know that you are his aunt.” I stopped and scrunched up my nose.

“Could you just please not mention that. And the gods are always getting together with each other, and they’re like brother and sisters and stuff.” I said, trying to defend him. We were at the Aphrodite cabin. “Um, Annabeth, you go get Nico. I’m… I’ll just be a minute.” I said, anger boiling inside of me. “Um… okay.” She said, and started walking towards Hades Cabin.

I walked into their cabin, and lets just say, I absolutely hated it. It looked like… well… what you would expect the Aphrodite cabin to look like. I got a couple whistles from some of the boys as I walked in. I shot them daggered looks, but that didn’t stop them. One came up to me.

“Are you okay miss?” he asked me. “Because, it must have hurt when you fell from Olympus.”

I laughed. “Really? That is like the oldest line in the book.” I said and pushed past him. I spotted my target. He was surrounded by a bunch of swooning girls drooling over him. I walked over, grabbed his hand, and pulled him to his feet. He looked utterly shocked to see me. “Zoe-?” He got out.
