"Ponyboy will you come with me to get some popcorn?" Cherry asked. He nodded his ear and got up. "Anyone else want?" Johnny started searching his pocket with his free hand for some extra change. His other hand was keeping me from falling off his lap.

"Yeah, I could go for s'more." I said. "I do." Marcia sipped her coke. "Me too. Get Johnny some, too. I'm buying." Two said. Cherry and Pony went off to the concession stand.

Marcia and Two-Bit continued their flirting while Johnny and I watched the movie, silent and a bit embarrassed from the kiss. After a couple minutes of silence, Johnny wrapped both his arms around me. I turned my head to him.

"Hey... Aiden?" Johnny asked. "Yeah?" "Will you, uhh... will you officially be m- my girl?" My heard skip a beat. "Yes! Oh my gosh, hell yes!" Aiden, stop. You aren't getting married, just dating. Don't get ahead of yourself.

Johnny and I both laughed at my reaction. I realized, yeah. Before now, Johnny and I weren't officially together. We just acted like we were. I snuggled closer to him and rested my head on his chest. I listened to his fast and nervous heartbeat.

Soon after, Pony and Cherry returned. We all sat in silence once more. It wasn't  awkward, it was actually comforting.

After the movie was over, the girls told us they didn't have a ride home. Two-Bit offered to take them home, so we started walking to his house to pick up the car.

As we were walking, I felt a cold rush of air from behind me. I turned around sharply and saw Two-Bit smirking. My jaw dropped and I smacked him upside the head playfully. "You asscheek!" I exclaimed.

I noticed Johnny glare at him from the corner of my eye, and we continued walking, me a bit faster now. I smirked to myself. The other boys better watch out now, 'cause they don't wanna mess with Johnny's girl.

Suddenly, Marcia huffed out. "Oh, look who's coming." We all turned our heads to see a blue Mustang driving our way. Johnny and I turned white and I grasped his hand tightly. "That's them." I whispered.

"What are we going to do?" Marcia asked nervously. "Stand here. There isn't much else we can do." Cherry but her nails. "Who is it? The FBI?" Two-Bit asked. I glared at him before I turned back to the car and gulped.

"No... It's Randy and Bob." I said weakly. "Your boyfriends?" Johnny asked the girls. Oh shit. Oh shit. Cherry... no. Yes. Shit. Cherry is the cheerleader that Bob left me for. My eyes widened as I quickly pulled Cherry aside.

"Cherry, there's something I need to tell you. Bob... he's my ex boyfriend." Her eyes widened as well. "Oh no. This isn't gonna end well." She spoke to all of us now, "Just keep walking. Maybe they won't notice us."

So much for that. I thought as they pulled up beside us. I turned my face away from them. Please don't recognize me. Please don't recognize me. Johnny held me close.

Johnny's POV

"Are they your boyfriends?" I asked wearily. Cherry nodded her head. Oh crap. Oh crap. Bob is also Aiden's ex. This isn't gonna turn out well...

Aiden pulled Cherry aside, so I'm assuming she told her the same thing. They pulled up beside us and I closed my eyes shut. I wrapped my arm around Aiden protectively. Bob had it in him to hurt her I wasn't keen on letting it happen this time.

Cherry advised us to act normal and keep on walking. I kept my head down, afraid Bob might recognize me too. To our relief, the Mustang passed by us slowly. I heard Aiden let out a sigh. "That was close."

We continued our conversations. "So Ponyboy, tell me about your oldest brother. You don't talk much about him." Cherry said. Pony shrugged. "What's to talk about? He's big and handsome and likes to play football."

Cherry shook her head. "I mean, what's he like? I feel like I know Soda from the way you talk about him; tell me about Darry." I was confused on why Pony didn't want to talk about Darry. I thought the three brothers were real close...

Ponyboy snapped. "He's not like Sodapop at all an' he sure ain't like me. He's hard as rock and about as human. He's got eyes exactly like frozen ice. He thinks I'm a pain in the neck. He likes Soda -everyone likes Soda- But he cant stand me. I bet he wishes he could stick me in a home somewhere, and he'd do it too if Soda'd let him."

I stared at Ponyboy. I thought- "Gee, I thought you an' Darry an' Soda got along real well..." I really did. They seem like the perfect family, compared to mine.

"Well we don't!" Pony snapped harshly. "An' you can shut your trap Johnny Cade, 'cause we all know you ain't wanted at home, either. And you can't blame them." My heart dropped.

Aiden let go of my hand and slapped Pony across the face. "You take that back! You don't talk to him that way, you hear me?" I winced even though I wasn't the one getting hit. But what Pony said, he might as well have...

"I'm sorry, I was just mad." Ponyboy apologized. I shrugged my shoulders. "It's the truth, I don't care." I really did care, though. I felt like bursting into tears right then and there, but I didn't. I had to be strong.

"Shut up talkin' like that! We couldn't get along without you so just shut up!" Two-Bit ruffled up my hair. At least I was wanted somewhere... "It ain't fair!" Ponyboy exclaimed. "It ain't fair that we have all the rough breaks!"

We all nodded our heads. "I know. The chips are always down when it's our turn, but that's the way things are. Like it or lump it." Two-Bit said. That was a sorta wise thing to say...

The two girls, Cherry and Marcia, didn't speak. I don't think they knew what to say. To be honest, we forgot they was there with us.

We all heard a car pull up beside us. My eyes widened and I pulled Aiden close to me. I wasn't going to let them hurt her, even if that meant me getting hurt myself.

Awww. Aiden and Johnny are so protective of each other! Their relationship is really cute to write about. Hope you enjoyed this chapter!
