ELLA'S POV
The time had come to go visit Dalia. I didn't know how convincing my apology had to be, but I hoped Nick wasn't expecting a lot.
I wasn't that good of an actress.
We went to the clinic and one of the nurses showed us to the room Dalia was staying in.
One of her eyes was swollen shut, but the other was open enough for me to see her expression when she recognized me.
"Hi, Dalia," Nick said politely. I felt like a child being forced to give an apology.
Oooh, Ella has something she wants to say to you. Go on, honey!
"Hey." she croaked. Her face was blue and purple and her jaw was swollen. I didn't even realize how much damage I did until now.
"I'm really sorry," I said, her eye focusing on me.
"Thanks, means a lot." she groaned, reaching slowly to the nightstand for her water. I went and handed it to her so she wouldn't have to turn on her broken rib.
"Can you give us a second?" Dalia asked Nick. He looked to me and I nodded in approval.
Once he left the room Dalia seemed to loosen up. I was nervous thinking about what she was about to say to me.
I took a seat on the edge of the bed and looked at her. I felt so guilty knowing I did that to her.
"I really am sorry that I lost my temper like that." I sighed. She probably hated my guts.
"Don't be." she said suddenly, and I felt my eyebrows raise.
What?
She must have seen the confusion on my face.
"You proved me wrong. I thought a human Luna would be weak and unable to protect our pack, but you did a real number on me. You're not a typical human." she explained.
"Actually?" I asked, trying not to sound too surprised.
"Yeah. I'm not going to tell anyone about this, so don't worry. But I just thought you should know, I'm sorry for what I said too." she gave a weak smile with the side of her face that wasn't as swollen.
I guess me beating the shit out of her was a... good thing? Shockingly, she seemed genuine in her apology and clearly she was someone who said what she thought, considering yesterday.
"Well, maybe just don't be so quick to judge." I shrugged and smiled back slightly.
"We got off on the wrong foot. I'd like to get to know you. Can we give each other second chances?" she asked.
I didn't have any friends here. But at the same time, I didn't know if this was all part of some plot for her to befriend me and gain my trust and then get her revenge on me. I had to be careful.
"I guess I wouldn't mind that." I said.
"Cool. I need to rest but maybe you could come back and visit me tomorrow?" she said.
