"This is bad, Ella. I have thousands of troops ready to give their lives fighting for you but no one in my pack uses dark magic." he said.

"You don't have any connections?" I asked.

"Witches don't like my pack, little one. It's complicated. When we get to Half Moon we'll ask Alpha Viera." he sighed.

This couldn't be worse. I literally killed the leader of an evil cult and his devoted followers are out for revenge, I thought to myself.

"Exactly what I feared would happen." Nick grumbled.

"Nick, I'm sorry! But I'm sick of saying it now so I'm fucking done." I felt my heart erupt in flames and my face was radiating heat.

"Hey, I know you didn't bargain for this when you killed Syd." he said softly, trying to calm me down.

"I don't know how to fix this. There are people suffering." I felt my eyes well up before a hot tear fell down my right cheek.

"It's gonna be okay, Ella. I won't let anything happen to you." he rubbed my back, but I just kept sobbing.

"Hey, we can figure this out. But you have to keep your head up." he tilted my chin up, forcing me to make eye contact with him.

"Can you do that for me?" he asked.

"Yeah," I sniffed.

"Don't stress yourself out too much," he kissed my forehead.

We landed soon, and were greeted by Alpha Viera as soon as we stepped off the plane.

"Welcome to Half Moon," he shook our hands gently.

Then we were driven to their pack house, where we sat and had lunch in the marvelously decorated foyer.

"So, the northern border we share has had some issues with security. I have wolves from my pack crossing into your territory during sunset and coming back at sunrise." he said.

"And do you want to know what they come back with?" he asked.

Nick shook his head. I just didn't have a good feeling.

"Specialized custom weapons." Alpha Viera scoffed.

"Why do your wolves need specialized weapons?" Nick chuckled a little.

"That's exactly the thing. I don't know. I consider myself to be a pretty good leader, but I can't shake the thought they're planning a rebellion." he shook his head.

"Listen, we don't have any harmful weapons available for purchase here in Half Moon, and I understand that you allow your pack different privileges. But I think it's something that needs to be solved from the inside." he said.

"I can relay to my pack to check who they're selling their weapons to. As for the border?" Nick asked calmly.

"I was hoping you'd be able to deploy troops in the A.M., and my men can guard in the P.M." Alpha Viera stated.

"Consider it done." Nick shook his hand firmly.

"Now, on another note, I have to ask," Nick started.

"Quite frankly, I need to know if you have any witch connections or any pack members that know dark magic." he kind of looked disappointed when he said it out loud. Nick didn't like to ask for help.

"I know only one who understands the powers of dark magic." Alpha Viera pulled a notepad out and jotted down an address just outside of his pack territory.

"Her name is Evanora, but I can't guarantee she'll help you. She's very... tricky." he said, seeming weary to even give us the address.

"Thank you, really." I said, and he gave me a genuine smile.

When Nick and I got back in the car, we entered the address into the GPS immediately.

And it looked like we had a 2 and a half hour drive to get there.

But, where else did we have to be? Our home was a target for Syd's cult of followers and we knew nobody with even the slightest clue how to stop them.

Nick woke me up when we got there, and I was surprised to see we still had daylight.

I didn't see a house, though. I saw a bunch of trees. The address had led us straight to the middle of a forest.

Then Nick turned me around and pointed it out to me.

"Wow." was all I could manage to say. I was intimidated by this whole thing. It was all out of my element.

Nick led me up to the front and after searching for a doorbell, we had to knock. And we could hear it echo throughout the whole house quietly from outside.

It sounded like someone was coming down the stairs.

When she opened the door, I was a little surprised. She wasn't what I was expecting.

She had straight, platinum blonde hair (almost white), that went down to her slim waist. Her skin was light and soft, she looked young. She was barefoot and both her finger and toenails were painted black. She was about my height, similar build, just a smaller chest. She wore a silky long-sleeved black dress that stopped just above her knees. And her eyes were not blue, nor brown, but violet.

"Evanora?" I asked.

She looked us up and down, before turning around and slamming the door in our faces.

"What the hell?" Nick looked confused, seeming to try and figure out what to do.

I knocked again.

"Do you think I chose a dark secluded house in the woods because I wanted to be bothered?" her voice was muffled on the other side of the door.

"I get that, and I'm sorry, but you're my only option right now. Please just let me explain, we really need a witch." I said hopefully.

The door opened again, much quicker this time.

"I am not a witch, you morons. I'm a god damned wizard." she shut it behind her.

"You have exactly two minutes starting now," she shrugged, sitting on one of the patio chairs.

"Okay, my name is Ella, and this is my mate, Nick." I said.

"Oh, I know who he is." she chuckled, picking at some of the black polish on her ring finger.

"And how's that?" Nick asked in his deep voice.

"You don't remember?" she raised an eyebrow and leaned forward a bit.

"You killed my sister."
