ELLA'S POV

My stomach was in tight knots, and I bit my lip as I started to recognize the area. We were close.

I adjusted my gun and pulled my hood up as we got into the parking lot.

The cab driver looked expectantly at me and I handed him some money, quickly getting out of the car after realizing I'd been staring blankly for too long.

After he drove off, I made my way up to glance in through one of the side windows.

The bar was decently empty, but I couldn't see the heads of a few of the men sitting on the barstools.

I walked in quietly and tried not to draw attention to myself, sitting down at an empty booth.

A nicely-dressed man came up to me with a notepad.

"Can I get you something to eat, ma'am?" he asked politely. I shook my head.

"Drink?" he tried again, and the idea didn't sound too bad. My nerves were killing me, I needed something to help it.

"Jack Daniels." I said, not giving him another look before he walked away.

I took a deep breath and leaned my head over to get a better view of the bar stools.

I knew I saw Syd instantly, I recognized his tall stature. Adrenaline was coursing through my veins, and I had never felt my heart beat this fast before.

Luckily the waiter came back soon with my glass and I downed it in one sip, scrunching my face at the taste.

As soon as the burning sensation hit my empty stomach, my nerves eased a little.

Normally that much liquor would get me a little past tipsy, but I was so alert that it barely affected me.

I didn't know how to go about this though. I couldn't just sit here and shoot him in front of everyone though, could I?

I unlocked my phone to 18 missed calls from Nick.

Fucking shit.

Syd groaned as he pushed himself off of the stool, bringing his beer down the hall with him.

He was going to the bathroom, and I was assuming there was no one else in there.

Nick would be here soon, there was no doubt in my mind. I had to act fast.

I straightened myself out as I walked confidently down the same hall, my face emotionless.

I was finally met with the men's room door.

It was now or never.

I pushed it open slowly and it squeaked as I entered. Only one pair of feet was under any of the stalls. I heard an abrupt toilet flush and then, the stall door swung open violently.

I pulled my gun from my waist and and pointed it directly at his face before he had more time to think about it.

His eyes widened when he saw me. Then, anger, and amusement crossed his face.
