Burning Hearts (Ep: Reign of Fireworms)

Fishlegs had just come to get you all and now you were surveying the island together. There were fires all over and it only kept growing. This does NOT look good.

"It began with one Fireworm, and as we were flying back, we kept seeing more and more," Fishlegs explained.

"Do you think they're migrating?" Arrow asked.

"If they were migrating, the whole island would be on fire." Hiccup replied.

"Not necessarily," Fishlegs said.

"Here we go!" Snotlout groaned

"When Fireworms migrate, they send out scouts to see if their migration route is safe. If this is a stop along that route..."

"An entire flock of Fireworms could be coming through here." You finished.

"Well, I say bring 'em on! I love those little scorchers." Tuff interjected.

"Are you still gonna love them when they all land here and burn our entire island to the ground?" Hiccup asked.

"Yes! Wait, no. Wait, is that a trick question? Because it's pretty tricky." You rolled your eyes.

"Fishlegs, how much time do we have?" You asked.

"Uh, it's hard to say. If it's a full migration, the rest of them could be here as soon as next week." He estimated.

"Huh, good to know. It's been nice knowing you, island. Snotlout is outlout!" He began to fly away, but Hiccup stopped him.

"We're not abandoning the island, Snotlout."

"Uh, yeah, we are. Watch."

"Guys, we put too much hard work into this place to just leave. Snotlout is not outlout. We're staying. Now let's get to work." Hiccup told everyone.

"Fine! But I still like my plan better." Snotlout grumbled. 

"Alright, Arrow and Fishlegs you both go make sure all of the watering troughs are full. Ruff, Tuff, you two work on a fire break. Snotlout, you work on clearing the brush around the Edge. (Y/n) and I will go further out to keep the fire as far away as possible."

"On it!" Arrow called and they all took off in different directions. You hurried off with Hiccup following behind you. After you both had cleared the brush further out to prevent the fire from spreading so much, you headed back to the clubhouse.

"Okay, Arrow, you and Fishlegs filled the watering troughs, right?" Hiccup asked.

"Yep! Topped off all the barrels too."

"Oh, I found a perfect cave for the Night Terrors high enough and desolate enough so the flames won't get near them." Fishlegs said.

"Perfect. Good job, guys. Now if the twins would finally get back, we can find out what they've done." Hiccup said.

"Oh, I can tell you what they've done. Zero, zip, zilch. I'm forgetting something. Oh, yeah, goose egg!"

"On the contrary, my fine fellow, we have done quite a lot actually," Tuffnut said as they both came in.

"Did you build a fire break?" You asked them.

"Uh, no," Ruffnut said.

"How about water? Did you bring any back?" Arrow asked.

"Couldn't. Too busy." Tuff replied.

"Busy with what?" Hiccup asked, clearly frustrated with their lack of effort to help.

"Finding something awesome," Ruffnut said with a devious chuckle. You sighed.

"Alright, what is it?" You asked.
