(Original chapter.)

You and Nightshade we're heading to a new island Hiccup had discovered. Some stuff was going on at the Edge, so he asked you to go gather intel on it for him while he handled the mess the twins and Snotlout had made. You had been happy to escape and do something relaxing and fun.

As you and Nightshade arrived at Ice Pit Island, you happily hopped off her and began to look around with your dragon right beside you. You couldn't help admiring the snowy beauty all around you. It was amazing!

"This place is beautiful! Huh, girl?" She barked in agreement. You both looked around and enjoyed the sights. Soon, you found a frozen-over lake. You laughed as Nightshade hopped onto it, ice-skating around happily. You joined her, having a blast. You slipped and fell a few times, but she always was there to catch you.

After that, you both kept exploring. You cataloged the different plants you found. It was amazing that flowers were in full bloom on the island in the middle of all the cold and snow. As you were looking around, you came across a whole field of them. You were stunned at what you saw. There were dragons there! Dragons you'd never seen before!

They were very small and, from where you were standing, you couldn't tell if they had any wings at all

They were very small and, from where you were standing, you couldn't tell if they had any wings at all. You and Nightshade got closer. The group spotted you and quickly scattered, scrambling back in fright. Nightshade, however, dipped her head to them and that seemed to put them all at ease. They were very fast and moved easily over and through the snow.

One brave little fellow scrambled over to you. He paused, looking you over, before zipping even closer. You giggled, enjoying his cute show of bravery. You knelt down and he swiftly marched up to you. He was the size of a cucumber and would fit in both your hands if you cupped them together. He acted almost like a very brave yet large squirrel.

The dragon took two authoritative steps toward you, stomping his front feet into the snow, yet still being cautious. You slowly held out your hand to him. "Hey there, little guy." He sniffed your hand for a moment before clamoring into it, letting out a squeaky roar. You smiled brightly at him. "So cute!" Nightshade huffed at you. "Hey, you're still my favorite, girl."

The little dragon turned in your hands and called out to his friends. They quickly came over and started zipping around you and climbing all over you. You laughed as they thoroughly inspected you. "You guys are curious little things, aren't you? You're like little feathered flurries!" You paused. "Hey...that's perfect! That's what we'll call you guys! Ice Flurries!" The little dragons looked at each other before the jointly nuzzled you, clearly happy with the name. You laughed. "My pleasure, everyone!"

One of them scurried up to Nightshade. She bent down as the two had a little staring contest. The Ice Flurry puffed some frosty breath at her and she huffed back at him. The snow was blown up and onto the little guy's face. He sneezed and you giggled at how adorable it was.
