You looked around, growing desperate. You just had to find him. Your heart was racing and the darkness of the night was not helping. You risked it, not caring who heard you. You just had to save him.
"Hiccup! Hiccup, where are you!? Answer me!" There was nothing. "Please, Hiccup! I'm here!" After a moment of silence in the dark woods, you heard his call.
"(Y/n)!"
"Hiccup?!"
"AAH!" You grew alarmed at him scream.
"Hold on! I'm coming!!" You ran as fast as you could. Suddenly, arrows launched at you from both sides. Your weapons were out in an instant as your instincts took over. You dodged most of them and deflected the rest. The Hunters rushed you and you took them all on, screaming a battle cry. "I WON'T LET YOU TAKE HIME FROM ME!!"
You got a few cuts and bruises, but all of the men before you lay either unconscious or...thanks to you desperation, dead. The blood around you would've shaken you if you hadn't been so focused on finding him.
"Hiccup! Come out! We're safe now! I promise!" No answer. You huffed, anxious and exasperated. You kept running, searching feverishly for him. Soon, you saw something in a clearing around a pond up ahead. You were moving before you could think.
You recognized his gear and silhouette. You nearly tripped from running so fast to get to him. You slid onto your knees, picking him up and holding him.
"Hiccup! Hiccup, answer me! Come on, I'm right here. Please, Hiccup...look at me." You scanned over him and saw that he was hurt pretty bad. The sight of the red staining his gear terrified you. Tears of fear gathered in your eyes. No. No, no, no! Please! Wake up! Wake up, Hiccup!
You stopped as you saw his eyes open a little, revealing the same forest green orbs you adored with all of your heart. You could get lost in them and not have a care in the world. You'd never seen them looking so...dim. Still, you ignored that and smiled at him. "Hiccup! Thank the gods! It's gonna be okay, alright? I'll get you out of here."
"(Y/n)..." You leaned in closer so you could hear him.
"Yes? Do you need anything? I'll get it as fast as I can, I promise-"
"(Y/n), listen to me. Please..." You stopped, frowning.
"W-what's wrong?"
"I-I'm not g-gonna make it..."
"What!? No, don't talk like that! You'll be alright! Just like all those years ago when you fought the Red Death! We'll get you home and you'll be alright!"
"No...not this time, (Y/n)..." Through the pain, he smiled at you.
"B-but, you're Hiccup Haddock! You always pull through! ALWAYS!" You shouted, pleading with him now.
"I was...never invincible." He cupped your cheek. "I-it's your turn to be the dragon master... To be their leader..." You shook your head.
"No... No, I can't do this without you!"
"You can..." Tears of anguish were in your eyes as you shouted in denial.
"I CAN'T!" You screamed. You pulled him closer, whispering a heartbroken sob to him. "I can't lose you..."
"I'm sorry I couldn't do better for you..."
"Hiccup...p-please..."
"Until...we meet...again..." His hand fell away and you stared at him as his eyes closed and his chest stopped moving.
"H-Hiccup?" Nothing. "H-Hic...n-no...don't do this to me!" You placed a soft, sweet kiss on his cold lips. "I love you..."
"What a pity." Your head shot up as you saw Leon standing there. You stood up, your weapons out as your tears fell.
