Two Hearts, One Desire

Hiccup's POV

I woke up early the next day, but I didn't get up. I laid in bed, thinking hard. That moment with her...it had felt so right. Being that close, holding her like she was mine, her warming up to me more than usual...it was all so perfect. Still...I hadn't told her the truth. I remembered back to the forest. I was going to kiss her. Gods, I wished I had. I would do anything to have that chance again. One kiss...one kiss and then she could say whatever she wanted to me. 

I sighed heavily as I laid there. I stared up at the ceiling, wondering where to go from there. My heart was aching for her. I needed to tell her. If I didn't, I had no idea how much longer I could last. 

It was then I made my decision. I was going to tell her today and it was going to be perfect. I had an idea. I would set up the perfect scene for us. There were plenty of places on the island that were romantic, right? 

I sat up, eager to get to work. I'm gonna make this an amazing day for her. No matter what, she's going to have a great day, even if she doesn't accept me. I let Toothless sleep as I went off to get started with my plans. I can do this!

Your POV

I can do this! You were already trying to figure out how to set up the perfect setting to confess to Hiccup. You wanted him to have a great day, even if he didn't return your feelings. Nightshade was already up and ready to help. You were grateful that she was eager to get to work just like you.

You were going to bring him to the pond by the cave. You and Nightshade liked to go swimming there. You thought it would be a good place to have a picnic and have fun with him. After that, you were going to find the perfect moment to tell him. 

"What do you think, girl? Is it a good plan?" She barked with a smile and you smiled back. 

"Then let's get to work!" You both hurried off to get the pond clearing ready. You were going to make sure the area was fresh and clean and then you were going to get to work making food for the picnic. You knew you'd done picnic's a lot, but it was always a nice thing to do. Have some snacks and then stargaze and just...talk. You knew that would feel right. With your goal set, you and Nightshade rushed to get to the pond. This will be perfect!

Hiccup's POV

This will be perfect! I had a great plan. I was going to watch the sunset with her on the Edge and then we could go flying together. I would take her back to Berk to the cove where Toothless and I first met. I would make sure everything would look nice and then I'd tell her how I felt. We could be alone there and it would be amazing!

I rushed off to Berk on Toothless. I made sure to go around the back of the island so nobody would see me. I wanted this to be a secret. I wanted it to be special for us, no snoopers. I rolled my eyes as I thought of my dad. He would so be spying on us if he knew about it.

I looked around at the cove with Toothless as we landed. I smiled at him, feeling sure about what I was doing. 

"This is it, bud! I'm finally gonna tell her! It'll be amazing! We'll come in and I'll have everything set up for us for the night! She'll love it!" Toothless roared in agreement. "Keep it down, bud! We can't have anybody else knowing about this!" He grumbled and I pet him. "Thanks, bud. Alright, let's get to work."

Your POV

You had been working feverishly all morning, clearing brush and making sure everything looked just right. Nightshade had taken some fish break to snatch a couple snacks out of the pond. You didn't blame her. You'd skipped breakfast and you were honestly pretty hungry.
