You were in your temporary hut, writing a letter to your family. You had to warn them of the Dragon Flyers so that way Berk would be prepared if an attack were to come. You sent the little Terrible Terror away and he hurried off to Berk. You sighed heavily, wishing that there was something you could've done to prevent it all. However, there was something you knew you still had to do.

It was late, and everyone was resting for the night. Nightshade was asleep as well. You crept out of the hut and silently began to walk through the village. You headed out toward the woods. You needed some alone time and the cliffsides always seemed to have great views and a calming atmosphere to them no matter what island you were on.

You set down once you found a good spot and tried to relax. It started working after a little bit. You sat there for a long time. The soft rhythm of the waves crashing against the cliffside was alluring. Just as you were about to get up and head back, you heard a twig snap. Yo were instantly on your feet with your weapons out. Someone came out of the shadows with there hands raised to show they weren't a threat. You calmed down once you saw who it was.

"Sorry, Throk. I guess I'm still on edge after all. I came out here to relax. Now I'm wondering if it actually worked, heh." He nodded.

"I understand what you mean. These are hard times to find peace. I came because I saw you leave the village. I lost your trail for a while, but I'm glad I found you. I wanted to make sure you stayed safe. I apologize if I'm intruding."

"Oh! No, no, you're fine! I'm glad you were concerned about me. You're just trying to make sure everyone stays safe. Besides, I was about to head back anyway."

"Well then, allow me to escort you." You smiled.

"Thank you, Throk." You both walked back together, chatting quietly. Once you made it back, you thanked him and told him goodnight. He told you it was no trouble and said goodnight to you as well. You both parted ways after that.

As you began to make your way to your temporary hut, you passed Hiccup's hut. You paused, wondering if you should go in and check on him. Would that be weird? I feel like that would be weird. You debated on it for a moment longer before braving it and walking inside. You kind of wanted to see him anyway.

He was asleep and so was Toothless. Toothless heard you and his head popped up as he growled. You gasped, his aggression startling you. He stopped when he saw it was you. He whined, clearly sorry for growling at you. You chuckled quietly and pet him, whispering,

"It's okay, Toothy. Everyone feels that way right now." He purred, nuzzling your hand. "You go back to sleep, Toothless. I just want a moment with Hiccup, okay?" He yawned and curled back up, going back to sleep.

You walked over to Hiccup's bed, sitting down on the side of it. He still didn't stir, which relieved you. You didn't really know what to do to wake him up. You blushed as you realized how creepy you were probably being. Yep. Just watching my boyfriend sleep. Definitely weird. You sighed mentally. Okay, I mean he IS my boyfriend. Nevermind, (Y/n). Just wake him up or leave. Not that hard.

You leaned down and kissed his cheek. It was a soft and gentle kiss. He stirred a little, letting out a quiet groan. You smiled and brushed some of his hair out of his face. He turned over in his sleep, his face scrunching up a little as he began to wake up. You decided it'd be best if you said something so he wasn't completely surprised by you.

"Hiccup. Come on, wake up." He groaned again and his eyes opened.

"(Y/n)? What's going on? Is something wrong?" He asked, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.

"No, nothing is wrong. I just...couldn't sleep is all." He looked at you, a little surprised until he smiled.

"Come here." You happily scooted closer as he pulled you into his lap, holding you close. "I'm actually glad you're here. I, uh...wasn't sleeping too good either."
