"The More You Hide Your Feelings For Someone, The More You Fall For Them."

Kennedy's Pov
Danny set up a speaker on a large rock by where Jason had set up the picnic blanket and food. We all sat down on the blanket and I stared out at the lake in awe.

It's truly beautiful. I don't think I've ever been somewhere this amazing. Which really means something because I've been to twenty seven of the fifty states with my dad on his business trips plus Ireland. This place trumps all. I don't know if it's the visual appeal or the loving atmosphere. There's just something about this place that I absolutely adore and we've only been here for a few minutes.

"Kitten? Are you okay?" Jason asked snapping me out of my thoughts and I realized everyone's looking at me as I was zoned out.

"Yeah I'm fine." I answered with a smile. They all nodded and went back to their business. We all sat around chatting up a storm as we eat our sandwiches and cold pizza. It honestly makes me happy that Jason and Danny invited my dad and Diane. It just makes this every bit more memorable.

"Can I ask you boys a question?" Diane asked out of nowhere. Danny and Jason both nodded giving her their full attention.

"Why do you live alone? Where are your parents?" Diane asked. My jaw dropped and I was about to object so they wouldn't have to answer but Danny looks like he's about to answer. Although we can tell it's more of a touchy subject for Jason.

"Our Dad was arrested when we were younger as Mr.Watson clearly knows." Danny said looking at my dad.

Okay Danny. We can sense your shade from a mile away.

"And our mom left a year after because she couldn't handle three kids on her own. At least that's what she said." Danny finished.

"Three kids?" Diane asked.

"Our older sister Nina left too. She's a big shot lawyer in DC." Jason answered. Diane frowned.

"You don't have any family left here?" She asked. They shook their heads. But then Danny smiled.

"It's okay though. Me and J only need each other. Right bro?" He asked and Jason nodded with a forced smile.

"Yup."

"It's been us two for so long we don't even know what it's like to have family. I don't even consider myself Jason's legal guardian even though I'm the one that gets called when he's in trouble at school. He's just my little bro and my best friend. That's all that matters." Danny explained bringing Diane to tears. Nearly me too but I suck it up like a big girl.

"That is the sweetest thing I've ever heard." Diane cried. Me and Dad laughed at her hysterics.

"Calm down Diane." Dad said then she glared at him.

"Really Tom?! Did you really just tell your pregnant wife to calm down?! Maybe I should tell our babies to calm down too! How about that Tom?!" Diane exclaimed standing up and walking away.

"Where are you going?! We're literally in the middle of nowhere!" Dad yelled going after her.

"Not really. There's a town a couple miles back." Danny said and we burst out laughing. I noticed Jason disappeared from the spot where he was sitting and I looked around until I found him sitting on a rock by the water.

"I'll be back." I told Danny as I stood up. He nodded and started eating Jason's sandwich. I walked over to Jason.

"Is this spot taken?" I asked pointing to the spot next to him on the rock. He shook his head and scoot over a little so I could fit. I look at him as he stares out at the lake.
