Kennedy's Pov
Jason was nice enough to stop at a gas station for me to go pee. Even though he wasn't really happy about it. He said he's only letting me pee because he needs to fill up the gas tank anyway.

I finished using the bathroom and I washed my hands, very very thoroughly. I walked out of the bathroom and decided to grab some snacks.

"Does Jason like donuts?" I wondered to myself out loud while looking at all off the donuts available.

"He loves donuts. Specifically chocolate with sprinkles."

I jumped and turned around. Danny is standing there with his hands shoved in his pockets. He tried to tame his hair, it didn't really work much.

"Oh." I laughed. "Really? He doesn't seem like the sprinkles type." I said getting the donuts. One for each of us.

"His tough guy exterior is only an act. But isn't everyone's?" Danny shrugged, walking with me to the counter and getting in line.

Wow. That was pretty deep and intellectual.

"Yeah, I guess. Tough guys like sprinkles too." I joked, nudging him with my elbow. He chuckled.

"Yeah. I just feel bad. He shouldn't have to be this tough guy. I'm just a crappy guardian." He said.

Oh this is a gateway into a personal conversation that I don't think Jason wants me to have with his older brother.

"Are you sure you should be talking about this with me?" I asked. He shrugged.

"I don't know. You seem like a really sweet, nice, and understanding girl. I don't really have anyone else to talk to about this. Jason's always mad at me and isn't the type to talk about feelings. I'm sorry." He explained.

Aww. I feel bad. He just wants someone to talk to and they're obviously both going through a tough time. It's not wrong to be a shoulder for someone to lean on.

"It's okay Danny. You can talk to me anytime." I said putting my hand on his arm. He smiled and we stepped up to pay for the donuts.

I paid for the donuts and we walked out of the gas station. Jason is leaning against his car with his arms crossed and a glare etched on his face.

"I said use the bathroom, not go shopping." He scolded.

"Okay. I just wanted to get you a donut. Danny said you like sprinkles." I chirped handing him his donut. He stood there staring at the donut for a second.

"Yeah I like sprinkles." He muttered biting the donut and getting in the car. Danny and I laughed as we both got in too. Jason started driving and I handed Danny his donut and started eating my own.

Jason and Danny were talking amongst themselves and I'm in the back texting Alyx about Taco Bell. I don't know how long we've been on the road but I know it's been a while.

I got a text from Peter and I don't know why but my heart started racing in a bad way.

Peter: u home???
Me: no I'm out
Peter: where???

That one word feels like such a loaded question. I'm not doing anything wrong but I feel like I am. But I can't base my relationship on lying.

Me: w/ Jason and his brother
Peter: *read*
