ミ☆ 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭!

Talia woke up at half past twelve pm the next day, she had stayed up way past midnight last night on facetime with Daniel.

The blonde groaned in annoyance when she realized that she had fallen asleep while talking to Daniel and forgotten to charge her phone, leaving it at twenty percent. Talia quickly plugged her phone in and then got out of bed to get ready for the day.

Stepping out of the shower and wrapping a towel around herself, Talia rolled her eyes when she realized she didn't grab clothes to change into. So the girl tiptoed out of her bathroom, failing at trying not leave wet footprints, and chose an outfit from her closet. Since her phone was on the way to the bathroom, Talia impulsively decided it wouldn't hurt to check her notifications real quick.

Talia's bright blue eyes widened when she saw that her manager, Michelle Brinley, had called her three times and left her ten messages while she was in the shower. Talia threw the clothes she picked out onto her bed and quickly opened the urgent messages.

"running late?" [12:48pm]

"everyone's here lia!" [12:50pm]

"WHERE ARE YOU" [12:53pm]

"THE MEETING STARTS IN FIVE MINUTES" [12:55pm]

"HURRY UP WE'RE ABOUT TO START!!!" [12:58pm]

"TALIA SKY LAYHTON" [12:59pm]

"OMG YOU'RE OFFICIALLY LATE" [1:01pm]

"THE MEETING STARTED TEN MINUTES AGO" [1:10pm]

"WE'RE ALL WAITING ON YOU" [1:15pm]

"THIS IS SO EMBARRASSING FOR ME OMG TALIA!!" [1:20pm]

The mentioned blonde started freaking out as she read the messages. She had totally forgotten about her record label meeting today.

"OMG OMW SO SORRY!" Talia quickly sent before rushing off into the bathroom to change. She didn't even bother to dry her hair, instead grabbing two hair ties so she could braid her hair in the uber.

To say her day was off to a bad start would be an understatement. The only good thing that had happened was the three hours she talked to Daniel in the very early morning. Oh boy was that adorable blue eyed boy going to get it.

Talia hopped out of the uber, not feeling herself. She was never late for meetings, what had this boy done to her? It wasn't exactly his fault though. Talia had gotten in too deep while they facetimed and forgot to set her alarm for the next morning.

Her damp hair in two braids, Talia grabbed the coffee offered to her by the front desk lady who was a cute elderly woman that surely put Talia in a better mood. The blonde raced to the meeting room and took a deep breath to compose herself before pushing the door open.

"Hi, I'm here!" Talia smiled sheepishly. The looks she got from her superiors made her face flush with embarrassment.

"Talia. Take a seat," Michelle demanded, clearly pissed.

The acknowledged girl shyly took the empty seat offered to her and the meeting finally began.

"Talia! Walk with me," Michelle waved her over after the meeting ended.

Grabbing her stuff, Talia swung her bag onto her shoulder and caught up with her manager.

"Care to share why you were late?" she asked using a tone that reminded Talia much of her mother when she did something wrong as a child.

"Not really, but I don't think you're actually asking. I forgot to set my alarm last night," Talia half-lied.

"How unprofessional," Michelle tutted.

Talia drew in a tight breath. Her manager was one of the best and could sometimes act like her best friend but she was a very uptight and professional woman. Talia respected her, which is why she didn't speak up, knowing that she could only blame herself.

"It won't happen again," Talia apologized.

"Alright then. You paid last time so lunch on me?" Michelle offered.

Talia smiled and nodded. See? Michelle could really be her best friend sometimes.
