Daniel had been practically beaming with happiness throughout his date with Talia. That is, until he was driving her back to her apartment.

As he kept his eyes on the road, Daniel was internally freaking out. The teen had no idea what Talia would want him to do at the end of the date. Walk her to her apartment? Ask for a second date? Kiss her goodbye?

Scenario after scenario ran through the brunette's head. On the outside, he was just humming along to the music playing on the radio with Talia in a peaceful state. On the inside, his heart could not be beating any faster.

As the song that was playing ended, Talia spoke up.

"Do you mind if we get dinner before you drop me off? Nothing fancy though! Just some take out would be great," Talia asked.

It was nearing sunset and what was more romantic than eating greasy, unhealthy food with your date while watching the sunset? Just kidding, a lot of things are more romantic.

"Yeah sounds good. In N Out?" Daniel suggested, seeing the bright red and yellow sign lit up in the distance.

Talia nodded and pulled her phone out to ask her roommate if she wanted anything.

Daniel pulled into the drive thru right as Talia got her roommate's order.

"I'm paying, okay? Don't argue," Talia said, giving Daniel a threatening look that just made him laugh and nod instead.

The two teens ordered their food, Talia paid, and they got their food shortly after.

The car filled up with the mouth watering smells of the burgers, fries, and shakes inside the white paper bags Talia held on her lap.

Daniel found a nice secluded spot to park and the two started eating as they watched the sun set.

Daniel found the sunset especially beautiful today. He adored the dreamy look Talia had as she stared at the night sky. The girl had a grin on her face as her blue eyes reflected the beautiful colors in the sky.

They sat in the car in comfortable silence. Soft, quiet music played in the background as they munched on their burgers and fries and took sips of their milkshakes.

Much too quickly, the sun had fully set and it was dark outside.

Talia turned to Daniel, only to see that he was already looking at her. She smiled and when Daniel smiled back at her, a drop of sauce fell onto his chin.

Talia chuckled, "You have sauce on your chin."

Daniel's eyes widened in embarrassment. He tried getting it off but his hands were full.

As the boy went to put his burger and drink down to free his hands, Talia had swiftly pulled a napkin out of the white paper bag.

"Thanks," Daniel mumbled as Talia dabbed the napkin on his chin to get the sauce off.

Even though the sauce was now gone, Talia stayed where she was, inches in front of Daniel. The two blue eyed teens locked eyes. Neither of them said anything for a moment, until Talia took a breath and moved back into her seat.

"We should get going. Claire's food is going to get cold," Talia softly said, her cheeks slightly rosy.

Daniel simply nodded and started the car. The rest of the drive was quiet. Daniel's eyes on the road and Talia's eyes out the window.

"I had a really good time today. Thanks Daniel," Talia smiled as they rolled up to her apartment complex.

"Y-yeah, of course. I had a good time too," Daniel awkwardly replied as he stopped the car at the entrance of the apartment building.

Pretending to gather her stuff, Talia waited for Daniel to say anything or, more accurately, do something. A period of silence passed and when Talia realized nothing more was going to happen, she opened the car door.

"Gotta do it myself then," Talia mumbled so quietly, Daniel barely heard a peep.

Before Daniel could ask what she said, the blonde turned back to Daniel and softly pressed her lips to his cheek. It was a quick peck but it left Daniel breathless.

"Bye," Talia smiled as she got out of the car and before Daniel said anything, she closed the door.

Daniel watched in disbelief as Talia walked further away from the car. He was still in a trance after she had kissed him on the cheek.

As soon as Talia was inside her apartment complex, out of Daniel's view, the girl frowned. She had expected him to shout her name or even chase after her, but maybe she was just thinking too much of it.

"He probably just wants to take it slow," Talia convinced herself as she took the elevator up to the ninth floor.
