Shota reunited with his parents after the ceremony. Hizashi approached Shota and put a hand over his shoulder.

"What a twist huh? Definitely a surprise." - H

"Yamada, I need to take a walk, want to come with? Mom, Dad I will meet you over at home."

His parents nodded, and the rookie heroes sprinted towards the train station.

"Hey man! You never invite me anywhere! Were you poisoned? Shota, are we going where I think we are going?"

"I need answers. Why is she doing this?"

As soon as the train arrived to (Y/N)'s stop, Shota and Hizashi ran the usual route to get to Escarlata's home. They arrived panting to the gate of the white walled home. They rang the doorbell and waited while holding on to their knees. The doorbell rang again and again, with no response. Both Eraser and Present Mic looked at each other in agreement and proceeded beyond the gate. Shota walked up the stairs to the front door. The mailbox was open and had old correspondence inside. He looked up the small glass window, and to his surprise, the house was empty. The couch where they used sit and watch movies every once in a while during the summer was gone, along with his hope of returning to that spot sometime soon. Shota walked down the stairs and met with Hizashi by the side of the house.

"This side of the house is empty as well. She really left Shota. There is no point in staying. I can't believe she did not say goodbye."

Please call me. I need to talk to you. Your phone is disconnected. I don't know how else to reach you. Don't leave me like this.

Shota

Two months later.

Shota walked up to his mailbox to check on the day's correspondence. Mailers, bills, offers, and one letter with no sender addressed to him. Shota walked back to his apartment, threw the rest of the mail on the table, and ripped apart the envelope. He immediately recognized the handwriting. No one ever bent their writing like she did. His hands were shaking.

Shota,

I will understand if you throw this letter in the garbage. The way I went about the start of my hero career was very selfish. I could care less about everyone else, but you Shota, you deserved so much more. You might not consider me as such, but you are my best friend. You are the closest person to me. You were my pillar through those 3 years at UA. I'm sorry I couldn't be the person the world wanted me to be.

The last time I saw you I told you that you could ruin my plans, and I still stand by my decision of not telling you, even though I regret leaving you feeling abandoned. You might also feel angry at me, disappointed even, but I need you to know that I have to figure some things on my own. There was no way I can become the kind of hero I want to be if I stayed. Everyone's expectations were tearing me apart. I talked to principal Nezu about this, and he suggested I contact one of his contacts up north. That is how I found out about the Independent Hero Coalition.
