Part 27 - Options

**This part took so long to arrive! I know! February is the roughest tough for me as I have to organize and see a very dear even for me come to life. School is off for the moment in my area, so I hope to be able to get the story moving. Thank you all for your strong support!**

'Twas the week before the school festival was celebrated at Japan's most prestigious hero school. The youths could be seen everywhere around the building. Class B rehearsed their potpourri theatrical work, while Class A prepared their musical dance show. The other courses prepared for their peak moment, as this was their time to shine and show off in a way unknown to the hero course. The air did not quite begin to feel crisp yet, but you could already tell that it was October. Ms. (L/N), accompanied by the Erasure hero, walked around the building supervising the students.

''Look at them Shota. Don't they remind you of us back in the day? I mean, we never really did anything as exciting as this. We just did food stands. I remember our first year we sold okonomiyaki. Second year, it was soba noodles... and then year three... oh, yes... I remember now. Our class was not in spirits to participate our third year...''

''Yes. This part of the school year it's all bittersweet...''

Eraser's dialogue was interrupted by a familiar face approaching them.

"Good morning you two. I see its true what they say... If you really want to experience a school festival like no other, go to U.A. I mean, your school does host the most popular sporting event of the year" said the ninja hero, Edgeshot.

"Edgeshot? What a pleasant surprise. It has been a while. I owe so much to you and Eraser. I haven't been able to thank you for your assistance during my rescue. Also, my apologies for hurting your arm, I was not conscious of my actions" said (Y/N).

"You know ... that is our job as heroes, and don't worry about my arm, just but a scratch. I am glad to see you are well and happy here at U.A. How are you doing Eraser?" asked Edgeshot.

Eraser yawned. "I am intrigued as to why the number four hero is here today. I would think you guys have been very busy since Kamino Ward and All Might's retirement" stated Eraser.

"That is precisely why I am here. Escarlata, I need to talk to you about something, would you have some time right now for an unprompted lunch?" asked Edgeshot.

Both Escarlata and Eraser were a little surprised and curious as to why Edgeshot wanted to specifically speak with the redhead. Eraser was particularly curious.

"Uhm, I need to make one more round to make sure Eri, the child who I... I mean we are in charge of is doing well. She is hanging out with two students, so I'm sure she is ok, but it has been a while since breakfast. Why don't you hang here with Eraser. I'll be back in a heartbeat!" said (Y/N) as she ran over to the auditorium where class 1-A was rehearsing.

Escarlata arrived at the auditorium where her eyes were blinded by Aoyama's navel laser. "Dear kamisama! If this is the rehearsal, I can't imagine what's going to happen during the actual show!" exclaimed the hero as she cleared her eyesight.

"Ms. Escarlata! How did you like this rehearsal?!" yelled Ashido from the stage.

"It looks great! Aoyama you're doing a great job up there!" said (Y/N). "Have you guys seen Midoriya, Eri or Togata?"

"They said they were going to take Eri for a UA tour and then a snack over to the cafeteria!" said Momo Yaoyorozu.

"Thanks Yaoyorozu!" said Escarlata as she headed over to the cafeteria.

On her way out, Escarlata spotted her and Eraser's protege, Shinso. The once scrawny general studies pupil, was now growing into a strong hero-to-be.

"Shinso! Come here for a second!" asked Escarlata.

"Do you need me Ms. Escaralata?" asked the young man as he ripped wood in half with his bare hands.

"Can you stop showing off for a second? Our training is supposed to be kept under guard for a while... at least until you have the chance to try out for the hero course... which shouldn't be too long now. Nobody is going to believe you are suddenly strong by eating more fish!"

"Uh, I'm sorry, but my classmates needed help and..."

"You can help, but use the tools please, don't be irrational! Today's training will be specially challenging as I see you are progressing well."

"Oh... yes ma'am..." shrugged Shinso.

Midoriya, Togata and Eri sat in the cafeteria next to Nezu and Midnight. Escarlata entered the lunchroom.

"Hello everyone! Midnight... Principal Nezu..." greeted Escarlata.

"Ms. Escarlata! Very nice to see you. Eri had a walk around UA. Eri why don't you tell Ms. Escarlata what you think about the preparations for the festival?!" asked Mirio cheerfully.

"I don't know... everyone seems to doing their best effort... I just want to see how it turns out..." said the little girl as she continued to sip from her drink.

"Okay, don't worry about it Eri. I am sure Midoriya will try his best to make the festival as cheerful and fun for everyone, right Midoriya?" asked Escarlata.

"That's right Escarlata sensei. I will especially make it especial for Eri. I can't wait for her to see me dance with my class!" said Izuku excitedly.

"Very well, Midoriya. By the way, I was just at the auditorium, and Ashido asked to tell you that your break is almost over. Togata, please report to Eraser with Eri in about ten minutes, yes?" asked the hero sensei.

"Yes ma'am!" responded both heroes.

Nezu munched on a slice of cheese to the speed of light.

"Hey Midnight, does Nezu always eat like that? He's like a machine..." whispered Escarlata to Nemuri.

"I heard that Ms. Escarlata... I just love cheese. It's full with proteins that help my fur be as shiny as ever..."

 ...

Eraser and Edgeshot waited seated on the benches by the entrance at UA. There was an unspoken tension between the heroes. Students walked by and murmured about the presence of Japan's number four hero. A student, distracted by the hero's presence, tripped and dropped a model that reflected being worked on for many hours.

"So... you two are in charge of a child?" said the ninja hero.

"Cut the small talk...do you mind telling me why you are really here, Edgeshot? You are causing some disruptions in the school environment" said Eraser.

"I'll cut through the chase Eraser, you know Escarlata better than me, so I suppose I can ask for your opinions as well. She is a very strong hero, and I am sure that she won't have enough of a challenge only teaching here at U.A. I mean, look at you, teacher by day, stealthy hero by night. Escarlata will want more... I heard about the bank rescue she did a couple of months ago. The commission did not see that well. They believe a hero of her caliber should be helping out there in the streets, instead of just being a teacher. If she was any other, it would've been easy to let her pass, but the commission will be very persistent. I am looking for someone with her experience to join my agency. I have taken Mt. Lady and Kamui Woods under my wing, but I am always looking for ways to build a stronger team, and I think Escarlata would make a good addition. I know that was a lot but, what do you think, Eraser?" asked Edgeshot.

"I think what you do, or don't do with your hero license is a personal choice. The commission has no say on whether someone wants to patrol or not. Unless, liberties have changed and they want to cut our leashes even shorter..." said the hero with a strong tone.

"Everything changed since Kamino. We need stronger heroes out there, don't you see? You more than anyone know up close what it means to be the target of an organization such as the League of Villains. I am also working with Tsukauchi on investigating Shigaraki's whereabouts. I think Escarlata would be interested in that. Also, do you know if she is single?"
