It had been two days since Escarlata had arrived to the hospital. Shota spent both nights over, but was in and out of the building as he had some things to attend in his own home, and at UA. It was about noon when he came back after showering and getting a fresh change of clothes. He was wearing a pair of black pants, black gym shoes and a plan white t-shirt. His hair was put together in a loose low bun. He had also stopped by UA that morning to pick up some assignments to grade. Thirteen had done a great job leading his class in his absence, and he wasn't about letting him do the grading too.
Shota arrived to the room, and knocked on the door.
"One moment please, I am getting dressed. Shota is that you?!" Said (Y/N).
"Uh yeah, I'll wait." said Shota as he tried to clear his thoughts.
"Ok, come on in!" yelled (Y/N)
Shota opened the room, and he couldn't help but laugh a little at what he saw.
"Is everything ok? What is so funny?" asked (Y/N).
"Your shirt is backwards, and so are your pants. Both tags are out." Said Shota trying to hold back laughter. "I'll leave so you can fix that".
"Wait no, just turn around, no big deal." Said (Y/N) as she took of her shirt and flipped it inside out. Shota turned around and covered his eyes with his hands. Why do I do this to myself...
"You know, the doctor said I could leave today. I want to go see Recovery Girl and figure out where I will stay. I need a special favor from you though..." said the hero as she fixed her pants. "Well, how do I look? I know this is not the best but, these pants and shirt are all the nurse could get for me, otherwise I would be wearing scrubs!" said (Y/N) with a smile. "My suit was sent over for repairs, so that will take a week, and that means I have nothing else to wear."
"Uhm, well, it is better than the gown. What is that favor you need?" said Shota as he placed his hand on his neck.
"All my belongings are back at the northern region, and well, I need to go get some money and buy some clothes. After that, I'll be able to manage on my own!" said (Y/N) as she was headed straight for the wall.
"(Y/N) watch out!" yelled Shota.
(Y/N) ran into the wall, hitting her nose and forehead. "Ah shit! Who put that wall there?! I'm fine! I'm fine! I'm fine!" said the woman as blood began dripping from her nose.
Shota grabbed a tissue and proceeded to cover her nostril. "I don't think you are in any condition of being by yourself. Imagine if some dangerous stairs got in your way or something..." said Shota with a hint of sarcasm.
"Don't patronize me just because you have all of your five senses." replied (Y/N) in a nasal tone. "Shota I really appreciate your concern and supporting me through this, but I have already interfered enough with your life. I don't want to be a burden for you." - (Y/N)
"Well, let me ask you some questions. You mean to tell me that we haven't seen each other in 12 years, and as soon as we re-encounter, the first thing you want to do is leave again? I understand your circumstances, but do you even have any respect for the friendship, or so you called, we had back at UA? Don't you think you owe me... and uh, Hizashi too, at least a visit for all that time you were gone? Am I not free to take care of my friend for as long as I want?" - demanded Shota.
There was an utter silence filling the room after Shota's response. (Y/N) felt guilty for leaving all this time. He wasn't one for telling others how he really felt so it made it even more significant. He was right. She owed him more than she could consider. She owed him explanations, apologies, but most of all, her truth.
"You are right. I apologize... can we get going?" said (Y/N) as she removed the napkin from her nose.
"The bleeding stopped. We should head over to the Heroes Bank first. Then we can go get you some clothes, and finally we can visit Recovery Girl. I called her this morning and she said her afternoon is pretty clear, unless the third year training goes wrong. (Y/N), you can stay in my apartment tonight. I think we should make sure you are ok after leaving this hospital" Shota said as he placed his hand on his neck, and he felt a warm rush flowing through his cheeks. He was lucky that (Y/N) was blind for the time being.
"Wow, you have made a whole day out of this. Well then, let's waste no time!" said (Y/N) to the wall, as she headed forward in danger to injure her nose, again.
Shota placed his hand on his face.
"(Y/N) STOP! How about you use your energy to hover, and I guide you out of here?" suggested the pro.
"Are you saying you're going to hold me? You think I'm gorgeous, you want to hug me, you want to date me..." -(Y/N) as she twirled her hair.
"You're quoting that stupid movie again? I swear you and Hizashi never grew up. Now hold my arm before I leave you here to your wall."- Shota as he hooked (Y/N)'s arm to his.
Ms. Congeniality had never been so accurate to depict the feelings of a person, nonetheless, Shota. (Y/N) liked the closeness. She was being transported to the good old UA days when her best friend Shota comforted her frustrations.
As the heroes arrived to the bank, a group of photographers approached the couple. Shota could hear their plan to swarm (Y/N) with questions, so he sped up to get to the bank.
"I think that is Escarlata. She is the hero that was kidnapped last week. I did not know she had been rescued" said one of the photographers nearby.
Shota kept speeding his walking.
"Shota, is there anything wrong. You are walking very fast." Asked (Y/N)
"There are a bunch of photographers coming our way. They won't hesitate to bombard you with a lot of questions after your kidnapping broke on the news." Said Shota.
"Then why are you speed walking? You should be running!" said (Y/N)
"Alright then, hold on to my waist!" said Shota as he moved his bag to the side. (Y/N) complied, blushing along the way and feeling the exhaustion from using her quirk for too long. She wasn't one hundred percent back to normal.
"Escarlata, wait! We have some questions!" - yelled one of the photographers.
The heroes barely escaped and made it to the safety of the bank. The bank was one of the places pro heroes could feel safe from reporters and photographers, as their finances were a very private affair.
"Shota, I don't think I will be able to use my quirk for another long distance. I am starting to feel dizzy." - said (Y/N)
"Ok, we can take a cab when we are done here." - Shota
(Y/N) approached the ATM and she went through the retinal scan.
"Uh, I think I need some help here, hehe. I can't see the buttons" said (Y/N) sticking her tongue out.
Shota could not believe the number of digits that represented her funds. "Oh" he said. The Northern region must pay a better rate than the city, impressive.
"I know what you are thinking, but no, the Northern Region does not pay more than the city. I have gotten donations from wealthy sponsors because of some private rescues I have done through the coalition. We get paid less, but have access to private donors, and hear this, no spotlight for doing our job. The coalition as a whole gets the credit for our work, and I am ok with that. If you can just get me a debit card, a copy of my hero license and some cash. Whatever you think is a good quantity for clothes and food. I plan on not staying with you for free!" said (Y/N) as she winked at the window.
Shota put his left palm on his face as grabbed the cards and cash with the right, and handed them over to (Y/N).
"Thank you so much! Now let's go shopping!" said (Y/N) excitedly as they exited through the back of the building.
Shota sighed. "Let's make this quick, please."
