Learn To Love Again | Adashi

Chapter II

  Adam was woken up by his very dear, yet very rood, best friend Lance.
"Adam! Open up! It's important!" Lance yelled while pounding on Adam's door. He mentally thanked himself he didn't sleep in Shiro's room last night.
Adam sleepily opened the door.
"Lance McClain. It's four in the morning. What do you need?" Adam said.
"Sorry Adam, I cant control when inspiration strikes." Lance said.
"Can you please tell you inspiration to wait to until after seven?" Adam started to close the door.
Lance stopped it.
"Just please hear me out?" He begged.
"Fine, but make it quick." Adam sighed.
"Okay, so you know how you always call Shiro by his first name?"
Adam nodded.
"So what I'm thinking is today you only call him by his nickname."
"Why?"
"I just want to see his reaction. You don't have to do it for the whole day." Lance begged. He made a cute face trying to persuade Adam.
"Fine. But only today. And Firth's love of Alfor, go to sleep." Adam said.
"Thanks man!" Lance rushed down the hallway and Adam fell back into his bed.
"Oh, god." He whispered to himself.
Someone knocked on his door just then.
Adam groaned and opened the door.
It was Shiro.
"Hey, Takashi. What's up?" Adam asked.
"Hey, I was just wondering what all that was about?" He said.
"Oh, yeah, Lance is just insane. Did we wake you up?"
Shiro shook his head.
"No, I was already up. Couldn't sleep." He said.
"Please don't tell me you've been up all night?" Adam brushed Shiro's hair out of his face with his hand.
Shiro looked down awkwardly.
Adam sighed.
"Want to come in?" Adam invited Shiro.
He nodded and stepped inside.
Once they laid down Shiro buried his head into Adam's chest. Adam couldn't help but smile as Shiro began to fall asleep. He looked almost childish with his face all squished. A blush laid over Adam's brown skin as he watched the older, and shorter by an inch, sleep peacefully.
These where the moments Adam savored. Where they didn't have to worry about the Paladins, they just had each other.

Unfortunately, those moments don't last long.
"Hey, Adam. We're good on the CTSD plan right?" Lance whispered.
CTSD stands for

Confuse
Tired
Space
Dad

"Yea, I guess." Adam said.
"Great. Good luck!" Lance have a small thumbs up. Adam sighed as he began walking over to Shiro, who was eating breakfast alone.
Adam took the seat next to him.
"Hey, Shiro." He said as he sat down.
Shiro stared at him.
"What is it?" Adam tried to act oblivious.
"What did you just call me?" Shiro said in disbelief.
Giggles erupted from Lance, Pidge, and Matt. Keith just looked confused.
"Uhm, Shiro, are you okay?" Adam said stupidly.
"Adam. What the hell?"
The giggles got louder.
"What's wrong?" Adam said.
"I'm leaving." Shiro stood up and walked out.
Once he left the room erupted into loud laughter.
Everyone in the room gave Adam high-fives and had fun laughing together.
After a few minutes Adam decided to talk with Shiro, just to tell him what happened.
Adam knocked on his door.
"Hey Takashi! It's me." He called.
Shiro opened the door.
"What do you need Adam?" He asked.
"Hey, Takashi I'm sorry about that whole thing. Lance made me." Adam confessed.
"It's fine, it just confused the shit out of me." Shiro chuckled. Adam smiled.
"Uhm, there is something I want to talk to you about." Adam said.
"Okay, want to come in?" Shiro extended his arm to his room. Adam nodded and walked in. He sat on Shiro's bed as he closed the door.
"What is it that you wanted to talk about?" Shiro asked.
"It's just... I don't want this to be a secret anymore."
Shiro stayed quiet.
"And I know you don't want them to know, but it's getting harder everyday."
"Adam...I'm just not ready." Shiro confessed.
"Why, Takashi? Why aren't you ready?"
"It'll change the way they think about me."
"Takashi, they know you're gay and they love you regardless, why would this change that?"
"Because that's what happened with my parents."
Adam froze. Right. That.
"You know what happened, when I came out to them they didn't really care, but when we told them about us they stared hating me. I don't want that to happen with the crew, especially since I'm the leader." Shiro explained.
"I know, but that won't happen. These are the Paladins we're taking about, plus Matt. Their the most supportive people in the universe." Adam reminded him.
"I know...I'm just not quite ready. We'll do it someday, just not now." Shiro put his hand on Adam's. He nodded.
"Yea, sorry." Adam said.
"Hey, I love you. And we will tell them someday." Shiro lightly kissed Adam on the lips before he left.
"I love you to." Adam said before shutting the door.

It's a shorter chapter than usual but I honestly didn't know what to put. I'm not super proud of this but I'll do my best to make the other chapter's better!
