Chapter VIII

Shiro woke up in a Galra cell with Keith, Matt, and Allura around him. It took him a moment to proses everything that just happened.
Wait. Where's Adam?
Shitshitshitshitshit.
"Guys?" He called urgently. Matt groggily opens his eyes and replied.
  "I'm alive."
"Yeah, same here." Keith slurred as he sat up.
"I'm alright." Allura said.
"Uh, am I the only one getting deja voo in here?" Matt asked.
"Yeah, it's weird." Shiro said, he sounded dead inside.
"Well, we're going to die anyway so let's not worry about that right now." Keith exclaimed. Allura rolled her eyes.
"I'm sure Adam and the others will help us." She stated.
A few seconds later Adam, Lance, Hunk, and Pidge entire the room with Galra drones aiming guns at their heads. Adam sat next to Shiro.
"Well, that plan failed." Matt said as he looked at Allura. She sighed and waved him away. Shiro looked over at his boyfriend, who was staring aimlessly at nothing.
  "Adam, why do you look dead inside?" Lance said stupidly.
  "Oh, nothing, it's just that I didn't think this is how I would die."  He said in a monotone voice.
   "Could we try not being to pessimistic? Coran could save us." Hunk says.
  The team cracked up.
  "Yea, well, since we're about to die, any last confessions?" Matt said as he makes himself comfortable.
  "I'm gay." Keith blurted out suddenly.
   "Yeah, no shit, Keith!" Lance exclaimed immediately. Adam hit him in the the shoulder and gave him the death glare.
  "I'm sorry, but what does that exactly mean?" Allura asked.
   "Oh, it's when a guy likes dick and only dick." Lance explained.
  "There are better ways to explain that, Lance." Adam said in a disappointed mom voice.
   "Don't judge me." Lance said defensively. Adam rolled his eyes and slumped onto the wall. "I also like dick."
  "Yeah, we know. You remind us all constantly." Pidge mocks.
  "Thank you." He says as he grabs his heart.
Then, Shiro realized if he had actually listened to Adam about Kerberos he could have avoided these hoes.
   "I think about Annabeth every night." Matt says suddenly.
  "What the hell, Matthew! That's my best friend!" Adam exclaimed.
  "Yeah...that's weird." Shiro stated.
  "I thought I was your best friend!" Lance gasped as he stared Adam dead in the eyes.
   "I wouldn't say that, you're more of an annoying cousin." Adam claimed.
  "I guess that fair." Lances stood down.
  "Yep."
"Guys, we're about to die and doom humanity and you're arguing about this?" Shiro mocked.
  "Well, excuse me for wanting to spend my last moments alive annoying Adam." Lance said.
  "Yeah, lucky me." Adam said sarcastically.
"You two disturb me." Allura said.
  "Yeah, I kind of do that." Lance said like it was a complement.
  Shiro knew he was about to die and, you know, doom the universe, but he was actually enjoying himself, considering Adam wasn't having a panic attack right now.
   He didn't even see any type of worry in Adam's eyes, which was rare since the only other time he saw that these days was when he watched Adam sleep.
Wow, Shiro, Edward Cullen much? (I'm so sorry.)
"Adam's probably the slut in the group." Matt said randomly.
  "Wow, okay."
  "What the hell?" Lance said.
  "Yeah, it's clearly Lance." Pidge claimed.
   "Okay, for your information I am a total catch." Lance stated.
    Shiro looked over at his lover and remembered the promise he has made to him.
After the mission, if all goes well, we'll tell them. I promise.
There would be no "after the mission" now. He wouldn't be able to grow old with Adam anymore. He couldn't run his fingers through his hair of fall asleep on Adam's chest. He couldn't tell him how much he loved him anymore. He made a promise, and for Adam's sake, he was going to follow through with it the best he can.
"There's something I need to tell you guys." He said suddenly.
"Oh, what is it?" Lance asked. Shiro looked at his boyfriend, who had a smile on his face. Shiro knee Adam knew what he was about to do. Then, Shiro did something incredibly stupid.
"Adam and I...are no longer friends."
Adam facepalmed.
"Takashi, that is the worst way you could of told them we're dating." Adam mocked.
The team went silent.
"Wait, what?!" Lance exclaimed.
Matt was basically dying with joy.
"Fuck yes! My boys are back together!" He exclaimed. Shiro sighed.
"I've made a mistake." He muttered.
"Okay, ouch." Adam said.
"Not what I meant."
"Okay, wait, how long has this been going on?" Lance asked.
Adam thought for a moment.
"A little over seven years, than about a two year break, and then two weeks." He explained.
"This is the best day of my fucking life! Also, Pidge, why do you looked unsurprised?" Matt said.
"Oh, I already knew. Adam told me."
Matt stared Adam dead in the eyes.
"You what."
"In my defense, I didn't exactly tell her, she just figured it out." He claimed.
  "It was kind of obvious. I mean, while training Adam was starting at Shiro a-" Lance clapped his hand over Pidge's mouth.
  "Spare us the details." He begged.
"Fine." She frowned.
Suddenly, the door started opening. Shiro savored his last few moments looking at Adam's face, which looked terrified. He wished he had enough time in those few moments to remind Adam how sorry he was and how much he loved him. He was ready for the cold, clammy hands of death, but they didn't come.
Instead, there was a certain orange haired Altean standing in the door way.
  "What are you still doing sitting around? Let's get you out of here!" He exclaimed.
The team spend no time stalling, they filed out and followed Coran out to the hallway.
  Shiro was extremely surprised Coran actually was able to save their asses, but who's to judge. He did just tell the team about I'm his relationship like an idiot.

In conclusion, Shiro's an idiot and Adam is a disappointed mom.
