The bus stops right in front of the huge grey building, which seems a little more darker and depressing than usual. It kinda blends in with the grey clouds that's covering the whole sky, and makes me wish I had chosen some warmer clothes. I walk past a big sign which says ‘Eastwood’ with big black rusty letters, I guess it’s really old. The door opens automatically, the school is so crowded, and a huge group of people are standing in front of the door, making it almost impossible to get inside. Everyone is looking at something, but I can’t really see what it is, but it might be interesting since almost the whole school is looking at it, and trying to push each other away. I give up the fight for getting inside, and just turn around to find another way to my math lessons, ‘cause the people doesn’t seem to move or make space for others to get inside. What can be so interesting? Like it’s just a poster on the wall or something, unless it’s says no more math until next year, I’m not interested.“Good morning mrs. Adams” i say politely before taking a seat in the class. All the other students are already in the class and ready for the test, Wait, we had a test, today? oh god… Exams...I forgot, and I haven’t practiced anything. What a day? I fast take my computer up from my bag and cross my fingers, that mrs. Adams won’t notice that I’m not prepared. There’s completely silent, and everyone's so focused with their head in the books and computer screens. I can hear mrs. Adams heels on the floor, it’s the only noticeable sound in the room. She’s moving to the billboard, where she will go through the whole exam.
I’ve never been so scared before, it’ll be fine, what can go wrong? it’s just the final exams, with the final grades you need to get into high school… it’s… fine, I guess… it’s just my whole future, okay I’m freaking out!
“Okay so today we’re gonna focus on your exams for this week, you’re gonna have a little test exam before the actual exam on friday…” mrs. Adams informs us, while walking back and forth from the billboard to her desk. I can’t stop wondering, what was on that poster, that everyone was looking at? Is it something I should care about? it’s probably just a new poster of a new movie in the cinema, or a new stupid list of “who has the biggest butt on the school, or the best body?” Not a list I would ever end up on, and to be honest that doesn’t bother me, I’m not really fan of those stupid lists. “Miss Wilson, could you please tell me the answer?” Oh no, what answer? I don’t even have an answer… what am I gonna do know? okay just take a deep breath and think… okay so on the billboard is… oh the answer is 8. “x is 8” I say and try to sound confident to cover up my nerves a little, even though it’s almost impossible. “Correct” she says just as surprised as I am.
The bell is ringing, Time for break… I take a deep breath before storming out of class, and heading to the cafeteria. It’s gonna be a big challenge to find a place to sit, everyone is sitting with their clique, and well I am a part of a clique, but I’m not sure they are here. I’m looking around trying to figure out where the line ends and begins “Hey Ava!” a familiar voice shouts, I turn around meeting Sophia’s eyes. She’s pointing at the table where the whole clique is sitting, signalising to come and sit with them. I nod at her and push myself through the whole crowd of hungry school students. “Well, hi guys!” I say with a big smile on my face “What’s up?” I’m asking, hoping they might tell me something about the poster. “Have you seen the poster yet?”...
