Nearer to nineteen years ago you promised my family the world.
You promised a Male role model that would always be there in my world.
But when push came to shove you packed up and ran away, You left without a word.

No forwarding address, No Contact number NOTHING.
You chose to go and start another family without me, my mum or my dad in it. You chose that, You chose to forget us.

And now, All of a sudden in a crisis you have found yourself with the family you have forgotten.
You have found your self surrounded by familiar strangers, Your daughter, Your son,  Your family who would have once killed to have you in their presence.

I was born not long after you left, I was born knowing someone else as my grandfather, Never knowing the difference until I was older.

And now, Now you finally show your self.
After I have lost my grandfather, You have shown yourself and are demanding to meet me.
Acting as if there is some kind of right to me.
Acting like you didn't abandon us. Like you have been here for every brake down, for every hospital trip.

You don't know me but you will expect me to call you grandad.
I had my grandad. And you could never replace him.

Although I have all this pent up emotion toward you, I know how our meeting will pass.
I will shake your hand, Call you Sir and ask you only one thing.

Hey there Familiar Stranger, Who are you to me?
