Venetia tapped her fingers against her leg as she sat around the large table in the bridge with the Bruce, Steve, Natasha, and Thor. As soon as the team had returned to the helicarrier, Loki had been swept away by armed guards, locked away in the most secure cell the ship had to offer. The group all sat with their eyes trained on the monitor before them, able to see Loki standing in a large cylindrical glass cell as Fury joined him.

"In case it's unclear. You try to escape. You so much as scratch that glass..." Fury pressed a button beside him that made the floor beneath Loki's cell open. The sound of gusting wind filled the room as Loki stared calmly at the other man, showing no sign of intimidation or fear. "Thirty thousand feet, straight down in a steel trap. You get how that works? Ant. Boot."

"It's an impressive cage," Loki smirked knowingly. "Not built, I think, for me."

At Loki's words, Venetia couldn't help but glance across the table to where Bruce was sitting, his hands forming fists. No one needed to say a word to know that Loki was referring to the doctor and the large green monster he transformed into when upset.

"Built for something a lot stronger than you," Fury assured the god.

"Oh, I've heard." Loki turned his gaze towards the camera that was situated in the corner of the room. The way he stared into the camera, it almost made Venetia feel as though he could see them. "The mindless beast, makes play he's still a man. How desperate are you, that you call upon such lost creatures to defend you?"

"How desperate am I? You threaten my world with war. You steal a force you can't hope to control," Fury glared at the raven haired man with his one good eye. "You talk about peace and you kill 'cause it's fun. You have made me very desperate. You might not be glad that you did."

"Ooh, it burns you to come so close. To have the Tesseract, to have power, unlimited power. And for what?" Loki smirked at him, taunting him. "A warm light for all mankind to share, and then to be reminded what real power is."

"Well, you let me know if Real Power wants a magazine or something." Fury scoffed before he walked towards the door, done talking to the god. As Fury left the detainment room the monitor went black, leaving the gathered heroes to look around at one another.

"He really grows on you, doesn't he?" Bruce spoke first in attempt to ease the thick tension in the room.

"Like mold," Venetia mused.

"Loki's gonna drag this out," Steve pointed out as his cerulean gaze flickered towards the other blonde of the group. "So, Thor, what's his play?"

"He has an army called the Chitauri. They're not of Asgard or any world known," Thor informed them. "He means to lead them against your people. They will win him the earth. In return, I suspect, for the Tesseract."
