The quinjet flew through the air and towards New York with Clint at the controls, the rest of the team preparing for the battle ahead of them. Steve was sitting on one of the benches and tightening the strap of his shield around his arm when he glanced Venetia's way. The raven haired woman was oblivious to his stare as she twirled one of her knives around in her hand, busy talking to Clint about something.

The super solider couldn't stop thinking about how much his friend had changed since he'd gone into the ice. She was no longer the same reserved woman that she had been before. She no longer felt compelled to hide her skin from those around her, to try and fool them into thinking she was nothing more than a scientist. Now she had courage, she was more forward and willing to fight for those she loved.

"Hold on!" Clint called out to the other's as he entered the airspace of Manhattan.

"Stark, we're on a three heading north east." Natasha alerted Tony through her earpiece, the Stark man having flown ahead of them in his suit to confront Loki.

"What, did you stop at a drive-thru?" Tony joked as he flew through the air, trying to avoid the Chitauri that were attacking the city. "Swing through the park, I'm gonna lay 'em out for you."

"Mind dropping me off here?" Venetia asked Clint as she slipped her knife into its holder on her hip. "I've got plans to meet someone."

"Right," Clint scoffed. He didn't need to ask to know that she was referring to Loki, wanting to take her chance to attack the Asgardian.

Despite the woman's request, Clint made no move to open the ramp. Instead he focused on the controls as he flew the jet around a building, only to come face to face with an army of Chitauri. Natasha acted quickly, dropping the jet's gun to start firing at the aliens.

"Clint!" Venetia shouted as the whole jet started to shake, having been hit by something. The man in question tightened his grasp on the controls as he struggled to keep the jet from crashing into a building. Steve grabbed ahold of his friend's arm, keeping her from falling backwards as the jet started to fall from the air. None of them said a word as Clint and Natasha managed to get the jet down on a street.

"Everyone okay?" Clint questioned as he tore off his headset. He only earned nods in return as they all made their way down the ramp and out of the jet.

"We need to get back up there," Steve looked up at Stark Tower. Even from where they stood they could see Loki's portal lighting up one of the balconies. The air was filled with countless Chitauri soldiers  "Stark, are you seeing this?"
