Third Person POV:
Jungkook had stayed over at your house for two weeks before leaving. You told him that it was okay to stay longer as your parents weren't home, but he didn't want to trouble you anymore. You had a fun time with his company. He was always there to make you happy and smile.
The same thing for Jungkook. He appreciated your hospitality and kindness to have let him stay over. He didn't want to be a burden and mooch off of your money and house, so he decided to face his fears and go home.
It's been a month since he left. You felt lonelier from his absence, things felt more empty without him around. But you still got to see him during school hours so everything was fine.
Things weren't going smoothly at his household, but there was definitely an improvement from the last incident. His parents let him go outside more, but they (mostly his father) were still a stickler for good grades.
To your dismay, there was only going to be another week before the winter formal. First off, you didn't have anyone to go with, and second of all, you didn't even have a dress to wear. "Let's just stay at home, shall we Y/N?" You were muttering yourself as you headed towards Chemistry class.
You were planning to stay home on that day. Just chill and watch k dramas. Your usual weekend routine.
"Hey Y/N!"
"Oh, hey TaeTae. What's up?" Taehyung sat right behind you in Chemistry class.
"Do you have a date for the winter formal?" There was a light hint of pink flushed on his cheeks, but you brushed it off. 'It is kind of hot in here after the air conditioning malfunctioned.'
"Ahhh, no I don't. I'm actually planning to camp the night at my place."
"Oh really?" There was a hint of disappointment in Taehyung's voice.
"Don't be sad, the winter formal will still be fun without me. Who're you planning to take?"
"Ahhh," he said shyly. "The thing is, I don't really have a date to the formal either."
You were shocked. Taehyung, the school heart throb. Didn't have a date?
"TaeTae, are you sure?"
"Yeah I'm sure, I'm pretty sure I'd know if I asked someone or not." He stared at me blankly.
"Geez, I was only making sure."
"Anyways, since we both don't have a date. Would you like to be my date to the winter formal Y/N?" You could tell Taehyung was nervous asking you. 'Awww, how cute.'
Even though you were flustered and probably blushing a lot, you responded. "Of course TaeTae!" You thought of Taehyung as a really good friend, but you still blushed to his gentlemanly gestures because no one had ever done these things for you.
"But TaeTae."
"Uh huh?"
"There are prettier girls out there, you shouldn't waste your winter date on me." It was true. You didn't want Taehyung to be spending his special night with a couch potato. There were more amazing girls that would kill to have your spot.
"They're to clingy and fake. I wanted to go with you because I know you well and it'll be less awkward."
"Ahhh, okay." It made sense. It would be less awkward to go with a friend than with someone you know less.
After School~
Y/N's POV:
I still can't believe I was asked out by Taehyung! There are so many better girls out there than me, I'm still appreciate that he chose me though. He must've known that I wouldn't have a date. He did it to make me feel better.
I felt really bad that he did it out of pity. Even though he said that it was because it'd be less awkward, I didn't believe him completely. Sure, that might be one of the reasons, but not the main one.
"Well, if he's going to be taking me to the formal, then I should at least look nice that night." There wasn't much homework this week. Finals passed just last week and the workload was simmering down. With this much ample time, I was able to go shopping for a new outfit.
I didn't have any friends besides Bangtan, the rumors surrounding me and my appearance didn't necessarily attract many people. In most stories, the girl goes shopping with her best friend, but here I am, shopping alone.
I don't exactly have the best fashion sense, I'm the complete opposite of Taehyung who has an impeccable taste for clothes. It was hard finding clothes that suited me. I didn't want anything too revealing, it made me nervous every time someone would stare at me.
Nothing too flashy either, I've had too much attention on me already from Ji Woo. The dress code was anything formal. You just couldn't wear anything to revealing (couldn't reveal your back nor your chest area too much). I walked around the store for a good hour before I found the dress I was looking for.
(sorry if the picture is a bit low quality, it's the only dress that fit the things y/n wanted)
It showed a bit of my knee, but no one was going to stare at a pair of knees. It fit all of the dress code requirements and most importantly, it fit me. It hugged my curves in the right places and even enhanced some features, for example, my legs.
The price was a bit much for me, but I still bought the dress because it'd be embarrassing for Taehyung to show up with an ugly date. I accompanied the outfit with some shiny, almost metallic heels (like the ones shown in the picture) and long dangling earrings.
"Try to look your best Y/N. Just try!"
