His eyes were still dazed with sleep when he awakened. The room was dead silent. Eventually, his eyes got used to the darkness and he could make out dark bulbs of his furniture. He rose on his bed and slowly crept to his window. The moonlight was bright, just enough to be able to see in front of yourself while outside. He took one last glance around his room, before opening his window and jumping out. To normal people that were suicide, to him. That wasn't worth mentioning. You ask why? Well, the answer is easy. Because he is a creature of darkness, child of the night. Yeah, you got it right. Vampire.
Meet Aslan Jade Callanreese aka Ash Lynx, a high-class, cold-blooded vampire that won't hesitate to kill you. His jade-green eyes studied the forest for a few moments before jumping from one tree to another with the agility of the real lynx. The air was fresh with the scent of the recent rain. Nobody was close by, to our platinum blond vampire, that was an ideal time to go for a 'walk'.
He continued jumping on trees, with incredible strength and speed. An almost a whole hour passed by before he immediately stopped in his track. He gulped at the feeling of his blood boiling. He turned around, looking all around himself, trying to pinpoint the location of the source of the amazing smell. In a moment he was already jumping again, faster than before. The closer he came to the smell, the more his blood was rushing to his head. Once he came to the place where his vision was blurring, he landed on the tree in silence. He inspected the ground until he found what he was looking for, a dark figure of the person leaning on the tree. And the bloody clothes the person was wearing. The smell of the blood made Ash slowly but steadily lose himself. Just as he was about to jump down, a small part of his mind yelled 'NO!'
He was a vampire, a beast in the disguise of a human, one on the top of the food chain. He is supposed to drink when he wants like normal vampires, but he refuses. He doesn't accept it. He was a human once, and even though he gave up on his humanity for the sake of his brother, that doesn't mean that he enjoys being a vampire. He waited and inspected the dark figure leaning on the tree. It was a young man, he had dark hair and his clothes were dirty and ripped on the knees and below his elbow. He was bleeding on his left shoulder and on his scraped knees as well, his breathing was ragged and he seemed in pain. "Are you alright?" Ash asked as he neared the boy slowly, hesitatingly calling out to him. The boy snapped his attention back to the shadow of a figure standing a few feet away. "Uh... yeah! Um... I'm good, just tired out." He mumbled trying to sound reassuring and failing miserably at that. His voice shook, unsteady and hoarse. He was pale and trembling from cold, on closer inspection, he could see small scratches on his cheek and going down the neck. Clothes and his hair was ruffled into mess and dirty. The wound didn't seem to be life-threatening, but there were high chances of being infected if he doesn't get it cleaned up.
"Let me help you up and get you home," he concluded his observation with first out loud formed sentences from him since he started. "N-no I'm good." Blond vampire ignored his useless attempt to lie as he bent down, grabbing him by his arm while he hugged his waist and other wrapped his arm around his neck.
"You are a poor liar." Ash gave him a flat look as they began walking. Ash subtly ignored the sweet scent of thick red liquid coming from the boy. "My name is Eiji." Ash looked at him with the complex look, the boy was looking at him curiously and oblivious to war ragging in the mind behind the green-eyes "You can call me Ash."
"So, Ash, what are you doing here in the middle of the night?" He hesitates as he looked back at him once again "Shouldn't I be the one asking that?" He answered slightly annoyed and amused at the same time. If he only knew who he was speaking to, he wouldn't dare make a peep, much less speak to him.
Eiji laughed, making him cough dryly "yeah, true enough."
"Where do you live?" Eiji blinked, his mind processing the question slower because of blood loss. "Ugh, on the outskirts of the village, a big house with a yellow roof." Ash twitched at the description "The Hunter,"
"Yut-Lung," he muttered out loud and Eiji nodded "Yeah, he's my cousin. Obsessed with hunting vampires." Eiji sighed at the memory and Ash felt like slapping himself. He wondered what the hell was he doing, not only is he helping this human and risking going to the human village, but he was even heading straight to his death by going to the hunter's house. Bad idea. Seriously bad idea. And yet there he was, standing outside the house with Eiji by his side.
"Thank you, Ash, Goodbye!" Others waved before hurrying inside and Ash shrugged before going back the path he came from.
Little did he know that this was the start of the friendship nobody expected, a friendship between prey and hunter, vampire and human. The friendship that will start a war between the two sides, but it would still last for centuries, waiting for even more time to pass.
And they would spend it together, side by side with smiles and happiness.

Bonus:
Shorter is barely holding his laughter in, and Ash looks so uncomfortable while Eiji and Sing are happily ignoring them, Lol.
