His gaze was trailed forward while his thoughts occupied him. With the stoic appearance, yet elegantly he walked to his room until he was met with deep black - seemingly endless, orbs staring back. The mysterious boy blinked. "Ash... Lynx?" He murmered. Ash twitched and took a step back with a sweatdrop. That name wasn't something he should hear here. Ash Lynx as his alias when he was out of school. When he was on the streets, something that was forbidden in their elite school. Ash Lynx especially was the name everyone in the town knew, he was an infamous trouble maker and if someone heard who he was then he would be in big trouble. Probably expelled.
Before he could demand an answer he overheard there were footsteps behind them so he grabbed the black-haired boy's arm and hurriedly pulled him inside his room.
"Wha-" Before the boy could finish his word a firm hand was clasped over his mouth. He slammed shut the doors and stood still until it was quiet once again. Ash looked down to see young boy squirming, trying to shake off his hand clasped over his mouth. Ash sighed exasperatedly.
"Look, I'll let you go. Don't be loud, 'kay?" That seemed to calm the young boy, he nodded and slowly Ash let him go. The young man swiftly backed away and turned to face Ash with a confused and awkward expression. "What was that about?" Ash clicked his tongue. "Look, you can't call me like that here," Ash explained. The boy furrowed his brows "What are you talking about, aren't you Ash Lynx?" he asked.
"Yeah, but that's not my real name. And I'll get in trouble if people know that I'm Ash Lynx, so you're not gonna call me like that or else..."Ash narrowed his eyes threateningly. Eiji seemed to get the point and moved away. "So what am i supposed to call you?"
"Aslan," Eiji nodded in recognition "Alright... I'm Eiji." He smiled genuinely.
"You can go now," Ash waved him off. When the other boy didn't budge he raised a questioning eyebrow. Eiji opened his mouth but closed it after a few moments. "Actually... this is my room..." his voice cut through build-up awkwardness.
Ash blinked. "You're kidding me," Eiji stood silent. "Fine, whatever!" he threw his hands up in defeat "I'm taking a nap, don't bother me," he plopped down headfirst onto his bed and soon fell asleep.
. . .
"Why do you don't want to be called Ash Lynx here, you did call yourself that name before." Ash blinked still dazed from his sleep. He hadn't expected for Eiji to ask him. He's used to being left alone when he's rude to someone, and he was rude. After a few moments of thinking it over, he decided to be frank and just get it over with. "Ash Lynx is the name I use when I'm on the streets, but that's forbidden here." Eiji reverted his gaze back to his bag "So you sneak out sometimes and you want me to keep it a secret." Ash nodded at short summary "Yep,"
"Okay, i think i can do that." Ash didn't respond. He could have forced him to do it even if Eiji didn't agree, but he did... and he didn't even ask for anything in return. "Why?" Eiji halted and tilted his head so he could meet his roommate's gaze. His face was twisted with confusion as if Ash spoke a foreign language "Why will you keep my secret?" Ash clarified.
"Because you helped me yesterday, I'm helping you now. And besides, i don't need a reason to be nice." This guy wasn't easy. So if Ash was going to have him tagging along for this, he was going to have to play along. "Fine," he did owe him at least that much and he needs to keep an eye on him, just in case.
They were walking together through hallways on their way to their class when something stopped them. "Aslan, wait up!" Eiji halted at the chirping voice. He turned back and saw a teenager sprinting towards them. He had the same uniform as them except his wasn't buttoned, he also had a bright purple mohawk and dark-tinted sunglasses. Why he had them indoors was beyond Eiji.
"Oooh, is this your roommate?" he asked with a curious grin as he inspected Eiji who just smiled back.
"Yeah, Eiji this is Shortar." Ash gestured at the newcomer, fighting back another yawn "He's my overly energetic friend and he's in the senior class." Eiji beamed at the mention "Oh, you're in my class then." At that moment Ash and Shorter whipped around in sync. A few moments felt like an eternity as they observed him silently.
"...You're in senior class?" Ash finally asked with disbelief shining in his green eyes. Eiji nodded confused. "I thought you were a first-year," Ash admitted. "You're not the first one," Eiji groaned and puffed offended. Ash glanced back at Shortar who was visibly holding back his laughter. He didn't blame him. The expression on Eiji's face was funny to him as well. Eiji watched him with crossed arms but before anything else could be said, the bell rand, and the chance was lost. Ash waved the two boys off as he went into his classroom with a smile. There truly was the first time for anything.
