Eiji Okumura lived in a little city called Izumo. The city had many landmarks; airports, train lines, and roads as well, but people were more interested in its myth. In the middle of the city, there is a beautiful statue of a person. Legend has it that when they touch hands with their soulmate they will come to life. Naturally - to people in Japan that believed and were very proud of their legends, the place became very famous. People would often go to take a picture or video there while holding his hand, the statue quickly became a symbol of the city.
A cinderella waiting for her shoe, or better yet his soulmate.
People were still arguing whatever it was boy or girl, but suit he was wearing was enough of confirmation. Some would even make edits of the video where they show their celebrity crush standing on the statue podium. It was definitively one of the most popular places in a small town, yet people had no idea where it came from. One day it just appeared there. People shrugged it off as personages finally doing some renovations around the city.
"Oni-chan, hurry up!" Neumi, Eiji Okamura's younger sister, called waving excitedly. "Coming!" Eiji jogged next to her with paper bags in his hand swinging. When he caught up and saw where she was hurrying unusually fast too - even for a shopping discount, he glared at her with a tiny pout. She shrugged with a crooked smile and gestured at his camera "Please," Eiji sighed but nodded "Alright, alright." Neumi squealed and posed next to the statue, resting her arm on the cold, outstretched hand of the bowing man. She giggled and said: "Yes, i do." Eiji rolled his eyes. It was well known that the pose the boy was in referred to asking someone to dance, but some still think it's a marriage proposal. The pose were similar, but something at boy's face. It just said to Eiji that this wasn't a face he would have if he was about to propose to his soulmate, he saw people on their marriage. He took their photos, photos of smiling people, ready to start their lives, but not his. His face was still, but it didn't feel relaxed nor peaceful. Maybe because Eiji was a photographer so he had a sharper eye, it seemed like he was only one to notice, which is why he would normally avoid this place.
Unfortunately, his sibling disoriented his normality with her demand to go shopping and now to take her picture. Not that he minded too much. He loved taking pictures, and the other thing... not as nearly as much. "Hurry oni-chan." Eiji huffed and looked through lance after changing his position he clicked the button and nodded looking at it. "Oooh, let me see," before he could even react Neumi was next to him, pushing him while trying to look at the picture. She smiled "It's great, we're so going to put it in the family album." She turned to face a taller boy with a camera in her hands "Your turn." He tried to protest but Neumi shot back annoyed. "It's just a picture. It's not gonna be as good as yours, but just for memories," Eiji blinked surprised and slowly nodded. He walked next to the stadium and reached out to grab his hand while his heart raced. When he finally felt cold stone under his arm, he was shocked as next second it pulled him closer. Now Eiji was face to face with pale face and eyes fluttering open. Eiji gasped as green eyes found his. They stared at each other, both very obviously confused. "Kuso..." Eiji snapped out of the trance and jumped back, releasing his hand from strangers hold. He looked back at his sister who was glancing between two while clogs were practically visible above her head. The boy slowly, very slowly straightened his back so he was now towering above them, and podium only extended the height difference. But before he could step down, his eyes rolled back and his knees gave out under him. Eiji barely had the time to catch him before he fell off the podium. He scanned the blond boy for a moment before looking up to Neumi. "What the...?" he said breathlessly.
