Dani stood in that bathroom stall for what felt like an eternity trying to make sense of what she had just witnessed. She then wiped her face of her tears and knew she needed to get out of here, she needed to get home and away from Justin. Opening the door to leave the restroom, she ventured out back into the crowded building so that she could find an exit.
As she made her way through the crowd towards the door, she couldn't help but keep eyes on the look out for Justin. Unfortunately, her eyes then landed on him. He was in the middle of the dance floor, lips pressed against Daisy's, as well as bodies pressed right up against each other too. Their little adventure in the bathroom must not have been enough. Dani felt like the ground could swallow her up right now, her entire world was crashing down onto her.
"Dan Dan! Are you okay?" She heard a voice shout, but she was numb and wasn't paying any attention to it. She couldn't pull her focus away from her cheating boyfriend and that red headed whore. Suddenly, there was a figure standing in front of her. She could tell she was being spoken to, but it was like all sound had disappeared. The figure embraced her into a hug, he whispered "Come on, let's get you out of here. You don't deserve this."
Dani was being rushed out of the building, she finally came back to reality and realized it was Kyle who was being her savior right now. She was too heart broken to fight it, she just wanted to go home anyways. Kyle opened the door to his 2017 v6 Chevy Camaro, the same one he had when they were together, for Dani. She sat in the passenger seat as he made his way around the vehicle. There was a certain element of comfort that came from sitting in this car that Dani was thankful for, she had been inside of it millions of times.
Kyle got in and immediately started the car and began driving, Dani just leaned up against the window and stared blankly at everything passing by. She couldn't believe Justin was cheating on her. Although, maybe that's what he was doing all that time when he was "away" or supposedly looking after his mom. It would make sense with how little he communicated with her during those times. "Could I have really been that oblivious?" Dani muttered, more to herself than anyone else.
Kyle glanced over at her concerned, "You trusted him, this isn't your fault."
Dani sighed and nodded her head. Dani felt like she should have realized that Justin was too good to be true, but unfortunately her heart and vagina must have clouded her vision. The way Justin made her body come alive wasn't worth the amount of heartache she was enduring right now. Things were so much easier when she was with Kyle. Sure, he never made her excited but she had been content, and she never felt heart broken with him. Her heart was safe with him.
Dani peered at Kyle while he drove. He didn't drive nearly as fast as Justin did, he took his time and never took any chances. It might not have been an adrenaline rush when she was in the car with Kyle, but she knew there was not a high likelihood of them getting into an accident.
Kyle noticed Dani gazing at him, his hand left the steering wheel to grab and gently kiss her's. "Don't worry, I'm going to take care of you."
And Dani believed him. She laid her head back against the head rest and closed her eyes, trying to convince the rest of her body, and mind, to relax.
A few moments later, the car came to a stop and Dani heard Kyle open the door and step out. She kept her eyes closed until she could tell her door had been opened. She stepped out of the Camaro and immediately noticed that they weren't at her apartment, but at Kyle's house. It still looked the same as when Dani had last been here. The plants were a little over grown and the grass had a slight tinge of yellow to it. Dani sighed with relief from the familiarity of Kyle's home, but she couldn't help but wish Kyle had driven her to her house instead.
"Why didn't you take me to my house?" Dani asked curiously, trying not to sound rude.
"Well, I figured once Justin realized you weren't at the club anymore he would probably go looking for you, and I just didn't think you'd want to see him right now." He scratched the back of his neck.
Dani considered his reasoning and decided he was right, she wouldn't even know what to say to Justin right now anyways.
Kyle led Dani into his home, taking her things for her so that she could settle in. Dani kicked her shoes off and made herself comfortable on Kyle's leather couch. She had a flashback to one of the times they had sex on this couch, Dani remembered it was about as mediocre as mediocre could get. "Maybe good sex is overrated", Dani thought to herself, "Who am I kidding, that was better than good, it was mind blowing. I just didn't know it would come with the price of sharing."
Kyle sat down next to Dani on the couch, a little closer than where a friend would sit. "Do you need me to get you anything?"
"No, I'll be fine. I think I just need to get some sleep."
"Are you going to sleep out here?"
Dani looked at Kyle flatly. He raised his hand's up surrendering in response, "Sorry, I just figured you might not want to be alone right now."
Dani didn't reply, she simply just laid down and closed her eyes. As Kyle was leaving the room, Dani's phone began to ring causing Kyle to turn on his heel and head back over to her. "Do you want me to answer it?" He asked.
Dani considered the option, thinking that maybe it would make Justin jealous or angry, or at least regret what he did to her. However, she ended up denying the call and closing her eyes again. The phone began ringing again.
"Here, I'll take it." Kyle reached for her phone.
"No, it's fine. He'll get the hint sooner or later." Dani tucked her phone away under the pillow. She noticed Kyle looked uneasy. "Kyle, it'll be fine. I promise."
Kyle looked like he wanted to say something, but instead just nodded and left the room.
