Without even looking through the peep hole, Dani tentatively opened the front door of her apartment after having thrown  blanket around herself to cover up her naked body. Standing in the hall was Kyle, scratching the back of his neck. Kyle walked quickly through the door way, making his way right past Dani. He began pacing in her living room, looking very nervous. Dani could tell he wanted to say something, but something was holding him back. Nerves, he looked nervous Dani thought. As Kyle still paced, Dani suddenly had an idea. It was probably a dumb one, but it would possibly distract her from her current feelings and probably ease Kyle's nerves as well. She let the blanket that was wrapped around her body slowly descend to the floor.

Dani was surprised that Kyle hadn't even noticed that she was standing there, completely bare of clothes. Dani knew that Kyle was right about one thing, he would never hurt her in the way that Justin did. Not because he didn't have it in him, but simply because he couldn't hurt her like Justin could. Dani's feelings for Justin were too strong and it made her too weak, where as with Kyle, she felt more like she was settling. He didn't ignite fireworks within her, but that also meant her heart could never be broken to the degree it was right now. Why did people think settling was such a bad thing? It was safe, Kyle was safe. He could never, ever hurt her like Justin could. And, all of a sudden, Dani didn't feel so lost anymore.
