"Are there any rumors about me?" Meg asked Eleanor as she set her lunch tray down on one of the gray circle tables in the middle of the cafeteria.

"What? No? I don't think your problematic enough to have rumors spread about you." Eleanor nodded as she began pulling out the contents of her home lunch.

"Ok well do I smell or something?"

"No? Why? Do I?! Did you have PE?" Eleanor replies frantically as if she thought something was then wrong with her.

"Well-" A sudden loud noise of a ton of rowdy boys entered the cafeteria. The football team of course. Felix separated from his groupies and slid between Meg and Eleanor, putting an arm around both. "Nevermind." Meg looked down at her tray and began picking at the lettuce of her salad with a fork, suddenly not feeling very hungry anymore.

"So how were my girlies in their first classes today?" Felix teased with a smirk as he squeezed both girls closer to him. Eleanor found this amusing so she was giggling along. Meg, however, enjoyed acting like Felix was the biggest pain in her ass, "I'm not your girly" she promised, elbowing his rib cage which caused him to remove his arm. "Ouch...Bad day huh?" He scrunched his nose before chuckling slightly.

"So have you guys seen Isabella yet?" Eleanor asked intending to stir up some gossip at the otherwise fruitless lunch.

"Yeah, I think she prefers Bella. She's in my first period."

"Ooh gimme the deets! I wanna know all about her!"

"Well were on a first name basis...that's all, she seems...chill?" Suddenly, the doors opened again and in walked the it clique of Cullen kids. As they walked by Meg tried making mental notes of each one.

Rosalie and Emmett strode by first together. Meg had a class with Emmett last year and genuinely liked him and his attempt at comedy. Then followed a small brunette girl who was twirling and skipping as she followed her siblings, Alice. Then came a lone boy who looked like he was dead inside or wanting to kill everyone he saw, both true.

"Jasper..." Meg thought allowed which turned the heads of Eleanor and Felix. "What?" Eleanor cocked her head to the side before turning to look at the boy who seemed to have his eyes locked on their table. "Oh he's in my Precal class and I was blanking on his name until now." Meg said hushed as she returned to picking at her food, seemingly interested in the green leaves and vegetables in the bowl.

"Jasper Hale is in your Precalculus class?! I mean he's no Edward but damn girl!" Eleanor perked up hearing nearly the greatest news. Felix furrowed his brows which caused Eleanor to reassure him "Oh but you know you're the cutest guy baby..." Eleanor said in such a teasing tone it was almost as if she was lying. I mean cute is a matter of opinion but Meg thought Jasper took that title immediately.

"Jasper she's uncomfortable by your staring..." Edward said to the boy in front of him as he sat on the opposite side of the Cullens table. "Though you may be pleased to know she thinks you earn the title of cutest guy in school." Edward smirked with the comment to which Emmett spoke up sounding rather offended. "Well then she has poor judgement because that title is mine." He flexed both of his arms before stretching them around the back of Rosalie who sat next to him.

Jasper turned back to the table and looked instead at his family without talking. "Jasper-" Edward began but Jasper surprisingly cut him off. "Can you not read my thoughts Edward?" Jasper seemed a little pissed about it which caused some laughter from his siblings, mostly Emmett, while the rest were silent and in fact a bit shocked.

The rest of the day passed as slowly as any day of school does and soon the final bell echoed gloriously through the hallways. Students rushed out into the hallways with relief and joy for the school day concluding.

Meg met her friends once more by Felix's car. Her phone beeped and she turned it on to reveal her reminder to go to the hospital and get her physical for soccer try outs. "Shit...of course I forgot. Hey Felix any chance you can drive me to the hospital? I have to get my physical."

"No can do sis, I have football."

Eleanor rejected as well saying she had cheer practice then a student council meeting. Meg sighed then assured her friends it was fine after their many apologies.

She began walking towards the sidewalk when a small brunette girl appeared in front of her seemingly out of nowhere.

"Hey I couldn't help but overhear but if you need to go to the hospital we'd be more than happy to take you! My father works there. I'm Alice" she was oddly cheerful as she opened her arms not for a handshake but a hug.

Meg wasn't much of a hugger but she gave in anyways because Alice's kindness and optimism was too overpowering. "Meg" she said while buried in Alice's petite arms. "Really I'm alright though it isn't too far of a walk."

"Oh come on, it'll be alright." she protested as she took Megs hand and led her to one of the two Cullen vehicles. Meg sent a confused look back to Eleanor whose jaw seemed to be dropping off of her face.

Jasper and Edward stood by the passenger door and looked at Alice questioningly. "This is Meg, I said we'd drop her off at the hospital while we go see Carlisle." Meg sent a small wave to the boys, feeling a bit awkward and out of place with such untouchable and elegant people who seemed to want nothing to do with really anyone. Edward eyed her a second then nodded before climbing in the drivers seat. "Alice-" Rosalie started. Alice shook her head and Rosalie quieted down any thoughts she was having.

Alice smiled and clapped her hands together "Great!" she exclaimed as she opened the passenger door and got in herself. Then left Jasper and Meg outside. He was still as stone and kept his gaze on her until Alice rolled down the window "Jasper come on." she pleaded. Jasper moved to open the door, but straightened up and turned towards the Jeep next to them instead. He climbed into the passenger seat of that car and shut the door without saying a word. Meg was again weirded out by the gesture but figured he probably had to head home and do homework instead of stopping at the hospital. The possibility made her feel a little more like a burden as she climbed into the backseat of Edwards car alone.

Megs been in some pretty difficult car rides but this one topped most all of them. The only person continuously talking was Alice who kept asking questions to Meg about her life and school. Meg tried responding in the least amount of words as possible. "I turned 17 in February...schools great...moved to Forks four-ish years ago...no I've never had a boyfriend."

Meg couldn't shake the thought of Jasper Hale out of her head. It seemed like he was avoiding her but he was also staring at her and now she was in the car with his family? More specifically the two members of his family she had never really spoken to besides him.

"We're here." Alice finally spoke the words Meg had waited for since they left. She unbuckled the seat belt and opened the car door, looking back at the faces of the two. "Thank you so much. If there's anything I can do to repay you let me know." She smiled honestly at the pair and received a smile back from Alice and a half one from Edward. Once she felt content with how the car ride ended she shut the door and made her way to the hospitals front doors.
