A new school year. Hopefully this one might be easier than the last. Though that year Meg did happen to find a boy friend. One that turned out to be vampire who's murdered a ton of people but everyone has flaws right?
It was a bit of a cooler morning, Megs windows slightly open to let in the breeze. Luckily over the summer, the Cullens had no more problems concerning Victoria or any more threats.
The summer was long and eventful. Meg learned that vampires sparkle in the sun, it's quite lovely but obvious why they wouldn't go to school. She also learned that Edward could read her mind, which was increasing uncomfortable in situations, and Alice saw the future as well. Eleanor was over at Megs house constantly, and when she wasn't, Meg would be at the Cullens with Jasper spending her days in the woods, learning to dance with him, or simply getting to know and grow closer with each of the Cullens.
She went to her first few parties over the summer with Eleanor and Felix and it was- well eventful. It ended up with Eleanor and Meg over the toilet holding each other's hair and trying not to wake up Marge or Bob.
Rosalie actually seemed less annoyed with Megs presence and even went hiking with Emmett and Meg one day. Needless to say it turned out to be one of the best summers of her life.
Meg woke up to her alarm. She reached an arm out of her covers without looking and hit the off button. She sat up and pulled her hoodie sleeves over her hands before stretching. She got out of her bed and moved over towards a figure standing in front of her vanity. "Jasper!" She whispered. "You're going to give me a heart attack one of these times. What are you doing here? Someone could see you!"
"When was this taken?" the familiar voice of Jasper asked as he picked up a picture frame from the table and ignored Meg's questions. He didn't stay the night at her place, but Meg also learned that Jasper doesn't sleep and he's sometimes made an appearance at her house.
Meg moved her head back up to see the photo. There was enough sunlight through the blinds to make it visible. She smiled at the memory that came with the picture. It was of her as a child. Curly hair twisted into pigtails and a dimpled grin on her face.
Meg traced a finger along the picture frame, "It was the first baseball game I went to. My social worker, Julia Rodriguez took me there with her family for my sixth birthday. She said it was the only time she saw me smile until she came to check on me a few weeks after moving here."
Jasper placed the picture gently onto the vanity table and turned around to face her. He dropped his arms to his sides and Meg could feel his fingers gently brush against hers just for a moment. "It's Bella's birthday today. We're having a party back at our house and I would love it if you came."
"I'd love to-" Meg began before sighing, remembering the date. "But I can't. I already promised Cierra that I'd practice soccer with her then go out for burgers."
"That's alright. It's better to keep your promises." Jasper stood up and made his way to the window, opening it all the way before lowering himself out. Meg walked over to the windowsill and leaned her forearms on it.
"I'll see you in a few minutes ma'am." Jasper winked before jogging to the front of her house. Meg rolled her eyes before shutting the window and latching it.
She heard a knock on the door a few seconds later and Marge opened it. She heard her greet Jasper at the door and bring him inside for tea like usual. They still weren't exactly official yet, but Meg felt like she was really ready to be.
Meg got ready for school, pulling on a pair of distressed jeans and a short sleeve, ribbed white shirt tucked into the top of them. She looped a black belt around her waist and slipped on her combat boots. The silver 'J' necklace still hung around her neck as she fixed the charm.
