Meg woke up gasping for breaths, drenched again in ice cold liquid, the sun barely peaking through the trees outside. "Good morning." beamed the voice of Ella, standing over the awoken girl. Eleanor was dressed already as she usually was, her hair straightened with freshly cut bangs laying over he forehead in front of a headband.
"Nice haircut asshole..." Meg remarked as she sat up and shoved Eleanor slightly. Her hands then reached up to rub her tired eyes and run through her hair. El laughed slightly before sitting in front of Meg. "Ok so you for sure have to tell me everything that went on with you and Mr. Hottie #2." she begged placing her hand on Megs.
Meg let out a small chuckle and moved her hand away, pulling the sheets back and standing up from her once again drenched bed. "Nothing happened, I know that's not what you wanted to hear but I'm serious." Eleanor sighed with the disappointing news as she blew some of her loose bangs out of her eyes.
Roughly an hour later, the pair arrived at Forks High School. The area was drenched in rain from the previous night and the sky hung with a sheet of grey clouds. Meg didn't speak much to either Felix or Eleanor before she bid them goodbye and grabbed her bags, heading inside.
First period flew by with nothing interesting to note. Meg lingered at her locker, studying the students walking by in the hallway, not knowing why she was so distant that day, she only knew she didn't feel very focused. The bell that broke her judging also reminded her she was late for Math.
"Shit..." she mumbled to herself as she quickly collected every book she thought she needed that her arms could carry and rushed down the hall to Precalculus. She burst through the door which caused a group of unwanted stares from curious students. Meg swallowed and straightened herself up slightly glancing to the teacher. "Sorry I'm late, lost track of time..." was the only excuse she could think of. The teacher looked displeased as he gave her a blank look and motioned to her table.
Meg nodded and followed his movement to her table. Her seat was empty per usual as she was normally the only one to sit there. The seat next to it however, the seat no one else ever sat at, was occupied. Meghan's gaze was fixated on the floor so she saw the guests feet first and worked her way up until she locked eyes with the golden haired boy. She was unaware as to why Jasper so suddenly decided to sit next to her.
His eyes now for sure were golden, a light golden brown like the rays of sun reflecting off of a sandy desert. They were just as warm and welcoming which differed the feelings for when his eyes were black as night. She was, regardless of the color, hopelessly lost in their trance.
"Ms. Reid if you please!" the teachers voice echoed in the classroom. Students rose up in a quiet wave of snickers and giggles. Even Jasper, the emotionless, laughed slightly. Though Meg saw that laugh as a mock to her.
She mumbled sorry again and slid onto her seat next to Jasper. They had a math test that day, so it didn't allow much conversation to occur between the two. Though it was unclear whether conversation would've occurred anyways. Jasper finished his test rather early and handed it in to the front. When he sat back down, Megs eyes shifted to notice his chair was slightly farther from her than it was moments before. She was fairly fed up with his mixed signals and Jasper could once again sense the tension.
Jasper felt his thoughts become slightly tense as if with anger and quickly guessed the feelings were coming from the girl next to him. He watched her for a while, she grew more annoyed with his stare. He refrained from calming her just yet, deep in his own form of studies towards the girl he still couldn't keep from.
Meg in turn attempted to focus on her test questions but just as the question showed up, her mind went blank. She twirled her pencil in her hand as she thought about it.
Finally her mind was merciful and let the answer resurface, in such joy of remembering, the pencil slipped from her hand and landed on the floor. She rolled her eyes and reached down to retrieve the fallen object.
Her hand didn't meet with solid wood, but with cold skin. Her hand jumped slightly, unprepared for what it came in contact with. No matter how many times they had come in contact, she never got used to his touch. The brunettes eyebrows furrowed as she looked over to see Jasper holding her pencil out for her in his hand. She slowly moved her hand back up from where it leaned down and pulled the pencil from between his fingers, nodding as thank you.
Jasper stopped torturing the poor girl and let the calm rush over her again. He felt it working and also noticed an increase in speed as she took her test. He smiled to the ground before shaking off any sign of emotion again. He acted as if he forbade himself to have emotion despite his easy control over them. Around Meg, his own emotions seemed more powerful and prominent and...happy. It seemed as though he did everything she asked or even thought. All of the above which contributed to the list of reasons he's terrified of himself around her.
The scratch of pencils and paper continued until all the papers were handed in to the front and the teacher allowed the students to talk freely til lunch. Jasper shifted in his chair, seemingly uncomfortable at the task. Yet once again he spoke first, "Hi."
"Hey..." Meg turned to him, leaning her elbow on the table and tilting her head at the boy. Very casual.
Jaspers head moved to look at her and shortly after his body with it. "Are we still on for tomorrow night at your place?" Meg questioned Jasper.
"Yes ma'am" he said with a smile. He knew from her emotions whenever he used his southern accent heavily her pulse seemed to quicken and he'd be lying if he said it didn't drive him a little crazy when it happened. He just couldn't tell if it were good or bad crazy. Very very bad.
"I told you to stop with the ma'am it makes me feel old." Meg couldn't hold back the smile that rested on her face as well. Jaspers smile was contagious for sure. Meg lifted her right hand and punched Jaspers left shoulder teasingly. Oddly enough, his body didn't move, he didn't flinch, so much as blink an eye. Megs fist on the other hand felt a sharp pain like she just played a round of bloody knuckles. "Ow." she said impulsively pulling her hand back and shaking it a bit, as if it would help.
"Sorry... brothers you know." Jasper spoke the excuse very quickly opposed to his usual slow speech, which made it nearly inaudible. Saved by the bell, Jasper gathered his things and made for the exit ignoring anything Meg tried to say or stop him with.
"There he goes with his pity mood swings again." Meghan rolled her green eyes and pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. She shoved the books she had carried into her backpack and walked out of the classroom. Previously calm, she now felt her strong sense of loneliness again, no matter how crowded the halls were.
