The trio arrived in front of Forks High School a few minutes before first period. Luckily the school was only a mile or two away from Megs house despite the fact she lived basically in the middle of the woods.
Felix hopped out and slid across the hood to the other side, opening the door for Eleanor. Meg got out herself and walked behind the two lovebirds. They never wanted to make Meg feel like a third wheel yet always managed to.
The first period bell rang. Meg glanced down at her schedule and scanned over to the words: AP Literature. She nodded and walked to the classroom, parting ways from Felix and Eleanor who had PE together.
By the time she found the way it was relatively late and there was only one desk open near the front. Meg slid into the chair and received a slight glare from the teacher who wasn't exactly happy about her nearly being late. Meg shot him an apologetic shrug and turned to the unknown pale brunette who sat next to her. Eleanor always told her to be more social so hey maybe this was the year to make new friends.
"Hey I'm Meg, Meg Reid." Meg spoke to the girl, sticking her hand out for the other to shake.
"Bella Swan..." Bella spoke silently as she reluctantly took Megs hand and shook it. The tone in her voice gave the impression she didn't want to talk so Meg nodded then carried the conversation no further.

Next period was Precalculus. Meg was fairly close to the classroom already so managed to get there on time. There were long desks, big enough for two or three people, sat across the classroom in rows. She sat at a desk near the far windows of the room, still in the front. Meg enjoyed both having a view of the outside as well as sitting in the front to maintain focus. Students filed in and paired up, yet the seat next to her remained empty.
Meg didn't blame anyone for she definitely wasn't as popular as Eleanor or Felix. She'd rather be alone then have the teacher pry someone from their friend group just to be her desk partner. It was probably easier to get work done anyways- and she would have an extra chair to put her backpack on.
Five minutes to the bell, Meg grew impatient waiting for class to start so she pulled out a book and opened it to the bookmarked page. Gone with the Wind, a classic. Marge claimed many times before that it was her favorite novel. Meg couldn't deny it was a lovely period drama. Anything relating to history fascinated Meg, even in a math classroom.
Not even a minute passed when she felt a slight chill and noticed someone standing at the end of her table carrying a stack of books. She folded her book in her hands and glanced up at the boy. As her eyes led their way up his body she couldn't help but be mesmerized by his physical...perfection.
He seemed like a marble statue how he stood, tall and sure with posture way better than any normal teenager. Meg finally met his eyes and was instantly drawn in. She couldn't explain what happened or what she felt but it was very unusual. He had a stern expression and his eyes were wide and golden which just added to his otherworldly appearance. His hair hung in curls in a gold shade that complimented his eyes and brushed away from his face to reveal his chiseled features.
His pale complexion, deep eyes, and mysterious gaze meant he was none other than one of the Cullens. Meg didn't pay much attention to them so she couldn't put a name to his face in that moment. She broke the eye contact though could still feel him looking at her. His knuckles were white from clenching his books and his jaw was tight. Meg realized he likely was trying to sit down and moved to pick up her backpack from the seat next to her. When she glanced up again, the boy was already making his way to the furthest corner of the room to a different empty table.
He placed his books carefully down on the table and sat with such grace it could not be matched by any lazy teenager in the school. He closed his eyes for a moment and attempted to seem relaxed again before glancing back up at the girl who was once again buried in her book and trying not to look back.
The Cullen boy then began...feeling. His posture sunk a little and his eyes were heavier than before. It was like his whole demeanor changed to mimic what feelings the other students were projecting. Meg was tired, very tired, indicating either a rough day or lack of sleep, though it was only second period.
Meg could feel something off. Like that little sixth sense people have when they think someone is staring at them. Curiosity took over her as she slowly shut her book and moved her head to the side. Her movements were small and calculated so that she didn't seem weird or like she was trying to stare at people. She didn't meet the eyes of any other student until she reached the back table where the Cullen boy walked to. The boy sat there with his head tilted slightly downward so that his hair almost covered his face. His brows were furrowed and his expression seemed even more stern and unwelcoming than before. For a second, Meg could swear she did meet his eyes before he quickly blinked and began shuffling through his notebooks.
Meg put her book down and listened to her teacher ramble about math and the syllabus and such, but her thoughts lay elsewhere. The boy she had never met...why did he walk away? Could he possibly just hate me from reputation? Do I have a reputation? Why was he staring? She almost didn't hear the lunch bell being so tied in her thoughts.
Meg stood up and stuffed her bag quickly with books. She hesitated for a second then looked back to lock eyes with the god-like boy again. He inhaled sharply before nodding his head as if greeting her in a way. Besides that, his face was still and blank. Meg replied with a faked smile to cover up the fact she was overthinking a ton of stuff and weirded out and maybe a little nervous. After all he was 6'3, physical perfection, and a walking mystery.
