The school day was fairly typical, minus the extra bit of attention she received from her short dress. History was the only class she felt comfortable and had more energy is...that is History was her class with Jasper that day and all. She naturally felt better around him. By lunch, Felix and Eleanor seemed to have made up, that or they were pretending for the sake of being in public, Meghan no longer knew which.

Being exhausted, she was a bit more aggravated than usual and spent the whole day working up enough courage to ask Jasper why he hated her, then acted like he didn't, then did again.

Meg left her last class of the day which was study hall, and followed the clump of students filing towards the exit. She waved bye to Felix, Eleanor, and Cierra, whom she saw walking towards her car, and continued to the Cullens parking spots. She noticed all of the Cullens already outside and waiting for her, which quickened her pace.

When she finally reached them, Alice approached her first, Jasper stayed by his car. "You look so pretty!" Alice chimed happily as she moved her umbrella to the side and threw her arms around the taller girl who quickly returned the hug. "Thank you Alice."

Meg continued to get an unexpected hug from Emmett that she reluctantly returned. She waved at Rosalie who glared, yet gave a small smile when nudged by Alice. She waved then to Edward as well who gave his signature smirk back along with a subtle nod. She then moved to Jasper. He glanced up at her a few times, once almost smiling at her but he covered it well and kept his eyes on the ground when she approached.

Meg walked to the other side of him and turned towards him, leaning against the car as well. Jasper was forced to look at her, turning slightly away from his family. "Hey listen, I think we need to talk a little, we can do it later if you would rather but just- today." Meg held her arms behind her back. Her expression was as serious as she could keep it while looking into his golden eyes. She could've sworn they were black last right? Changing eye color added to the list of things she wanted explained.

"I'm not sure of what's needed to be discussed, but if you'd like we can." He started, his expression was curious and slightly amused rather than stiff and serious. "Preferably after we finish the History project, ma'am" Now his curiosity shifted into a smile and Megs aggravation and exhaustion was lifted along with it.

Mumbling of the other Cullens was heard behind them as they began getting ready to leave. Jasper put a hand on the door to let Meg in when nearby the sound of tires screeched across the lot. A large black van was sliding through spots, people were shouting and jumping out of the way. It was headed right for a small reddish orange truck on the other side of the parking lot. In front of that car stood a girl with deep brown hair and pale skin, none other than Bella Swan.

It was just moments from hitting her. Meg was frozen in place with a hand over her mouth. Suddenly, the car swung sideways, only hitting the very back of the truck. Edwards head emerged from in between the cars with a shocked, but very much alive Bella cradled in his arms. Meg was now confused once more, Edward was just standing right behind Jasper, and seconds later he was all the way across the lot? It made no sense.

Meg glanced around to double check that Edward wasn't still next to her. As she did so, she took note of every Cullen's expression. There was a mixture of shock amongst the group. Rose had her brows furrowed, as did Jasper, which threw Meg off. Alice looked relieved and Emmett looked as if he hadn't decided yet just how to react. Jasper slowly moved his arm from out in front of Meg and back to the handle of the car door. Meg hadn't even noticed it was there until he moved. She looked at him longingly, now wondering if he didn't actually hate her, but that wouldn't explain how he behaved before.

"I need to leave." Jasper muttered, almost under his breath as he walked to the drivers side of the car.
"I?" Meg repeated as she jogged after him. "Jasper this may be the last chance we have to work on this project and as I said before I am not letting you do it alone."

"Now isn't a good time." Jasper said coldly as he lowered into the seat. Meg placed a hand on the car door to stop it from closing. She leaned down and looked at Jasper, practically begging for them to get this project done. "I'll be quick."

Jasper turned to his siblings, who were climbing into their own cars. Rose continued to glare at him, but Alice shot him a quick nod. Jasper hung his head and sighed. "Fine." Meg felt a little bad. Maybe it really wasn't a good idea. After all, Edward was just in an accident. But, he seemed to walk out of it okay. Meg didn't let herself protest any longer with her mind as she moved to the passenger side of the car and got in. Jasper turned the car on and sped out of there much faster than he should have. Megs head was too buzzing with unanswered questions to wait.

"I could've sworn Edward was behind you. I waved at him. How did he get to Bella?" Silence. Jasper kept his focus on the road as his jaw clenched and his hands tightened on the steering wheel. "He probably ran over while you were talking to me." He thought up after a while, thinking it sounded like a decent excuse. "Right, that makes sense." Meg replied with complete sarcasm. No one alive could run that fast. Jasper sighed and blew a strand of his blonde locks out of his face.
