Jasper shook Emmett's hands off of his shoulders when they reached the parking lot. He halted and spun to face him despite the pouring rain that began flooding the pavement. "What was that for?" Jasper gently asked Emmett despite the urgent temper in his head.
"Nothing really, you'll thank me later." The Dark haired boy beamed with a teasing smile as he punched Jaspers shoulder. Emmett began walking towards his white jeep, one of the last cars in the parking lot when he felt Jaspers hand grip his bicep and pull him back again.
"Emmett what was that for?" Jasper repeated, his eyes narrowing, black as night once more. Meaning he was hungry and his anger was heightened, even at his adoptive brother.
Emmett sighed, debating whether he should answer not, finally deciding to give in to Jaspers pitiful demands. "It was Meg."
Jasper's grip loosened and eventually dropped from Emmett's arm. His arms crossed in front of his chest and he tilted his head slightly, urging his brother to keep going.
"She was...bleeding, I sensed it before I saw it. It was too far away to be strong enough to break me but you, you I was a bit worried about." He rubbed the back of his neck, possibly waiting for the shorter boy to yell at him.
Jasper looked around, his golden hair falling in soaked strands from the rain. "Thanks..." Jasper mumbled as he glanced to the raindrops dancing on the puddles in the lot. Emmett nodded with another teasing smirk as he ruffled Jaspers wet hair and motioned to the jeep. "Come on, we should get going."
After a handful of minutes, the jeep pulled into the driveway of a modern house hidden deep in the woods, surrounded by lush green forestry and towering trees. Emmett climbed out of the drivers seat and bounded up the stairs to the glass front door, opening it and walking in. Jasper took slightly more time on his journey and when he opened the door next, he saw his family all gathered in the nearest sitting room, glancing expectantly at the doorway.
Edward and Alice were sat on the couch, Edward leaning back with a sly smirk on his face, Alice with her legs crossed pretzel-style and her face painted with curiosity. Emmett shared Edwards smirk as he stood with an arm wrapped around his pissed off wife who held her arms crossed. Carlisle and Esme stood in the entrance of the kitchen, Esme with a smile and Carlisle still in his work clothing.
It was evident the group was in some sort of heated discussion before Jasper and Emmett arrived and it was also evident the discussion was about Jasper. Esme began including Jasper into the talk with a gentle tone, "I've heard you made a friend at school. You two have a few classes together right?"
"She's a human!" Rosalie bursted out, too flowing with anger to wait for Esme to ease into the subject. "Not just you, it's you and Edward! Do you not care about this family?" Alice perked up in a soft tone in an effort to calm her sister "If anything were to happen I would've seen it coming. Besides they're only classmates."
Rosalie still held her dense expression and Jasper felt uncomfortable from the amount of pure anger he sensed from her. Jasper began focusing on calming Rose down, but she spoke up soon again. "What makes her so special?"
Jasper clenched his jaw slightly, his eyes shifting from each expression of his family members to the next. "Nothing. Like Alice said we're just working on a project. It's Edward you should be lecturing."
Emmet chimed in with a joke to lighten the mood. "I think Jasper likes her a little cause she's complicated." His sentence broke up with a chuckle before he composed himself again "Newsflash, all women are complicated, human or not." He glanced over to his wife who delivered a swift elbow to his ribcage, only hard enough to hurt a little. "Hey I'm joking you know I love you. Besides it's not like the girl is awful to look at either."
To this Rosalie rolled her eyes and added to his comments "That doesn't matter! She's human, they BOTH are." She glanced between Jasper and Edward, her eyes growing darker as she spoke. "It's like you two want us to be exposed. For the Volturi to kill us all."
Carlisle had enough of Rosalie causing more trouble every time she let her temper get ahold of her which caused him to try and intervene, "That's enough Rosalie."
Edward ignored the comments about Bella, he knew how drawn he was to the girl and no matter how hard he fought it, he couldn't stay away. He only hoped the focus stayed on Jasper, which was what happened when the golden haired boy spoke.
"Meg is coming over tomorrow, I invited her to finish the project. I thought it would be better if we were here in case anything were to happen."
Rosalie took a deep breath and started again "Well that's just great-" Only to be cut off by Alice who rose from the couch and turned between both siblings. "I think it's a good idea Jasper, you don't have an intention to put any of us at risk. I don't see a problem." Jasper nodded a thank you at Alice who curtsied in return.
Rosalie was mad at Alice now for cutting her off but she retaliated quickly. "Well what if something happens? What if she does find out or Jasper screws up?" She used any and every argument she could think of to try and show her naive family that this was a bad idea. Except her own husband was too cocky about all of this and began to argue against her as well. "Don't worry about that, I can hang around the two and do what I do best, be a huge distraction."
Rosalie shot daggers at Emmett's direction and ducked under his arm, finally letting her anger and hunger get to her and exiting the room. Emmett made a face that showed he regretted his decision and quickly hurried after Rose.
Esme watched them exit before trying to return the tension to a calm state once more. "I agree with Alice, it'll be alright, besides all they're doing is a history project. It would probably be a good idea keeping Emmet around too, just in case." Carlisle nodded in agreement with his wife and turned to Jasper, a small smile formed on his lips "Besides, Jasper has done well with controlling himself around her. She's a nice girl." Alice clasped her hands together and moved her skirt back and forth as she swayed "Its settled then, can't wait to see her again!" And with that, the discussion ended as quick as it started.
Jasper shut the front door behind him finally and walked up the long staircase away from everyone to his room. Maybe Rosalie was right, not only was she dangerous for his family, Jasper was fearing more than ever breaking around her. He felt how comfortable she was growing around him, no one had felt that way about him for a long, long time. That may be his fault as well, but it wasn't safe for anyone.
