Snowdust
The silence that once filled the air, was quickly replaced by loud warcries, swords colliding with each other and flesh of creatures audibly torn and reduced to bones.
It was a mess. Blood spilled everywhere and a pool of corpses are already being collected.
A vampire charged forward with its fist aimed for my nose. I dodged in time and shot a leg to his knee, stunning him. His eyes widened as my infuriated fist cracked the skull beneath those layers of pale flesh. His body lied down, not moving.
I drew the sword out of my scabbard and chopped his head off in one swipe of the blade. Its lifeless body flinched from the sharp edge sinking deep into its skin. The soulless vampire crumbled into ashes.
Behind me were fast footsteps, ready to take me down. I quickly evaded the attack and grabbed his shoulders. I pinned him against the ground, the front of his face harshly hit the ground. A pained roar burst out of his mouth. I placed a palm on his forehead and wrapped an arm around his neck, I exerted a plethora of strength and a loud snap had been heard.
His once elevated arms, dropped against the cold ground as life left his body. I raised my leg up and crushed his skull into ashes.
I darted my eyes at Gerald who was focused on taking down three vampires lurching forward. I sprinted quickly and did a series of steps in a fast motion. I placed both hands on the floor and let my legs travel above my upper body. It landed on both the vampire's shoulders and I locked them together, stopping his breathing.
With my torso lifted upwards again, I could finally blow punches against his hideous face.
I swiftly gathered strength to harshly elbow the roof of his head. I leaped off before the motionless body fell lifeless on the floor. My hand formed a spike and I hurled it to the back of another vampire bolting for Gerald. It shot through his chest, and it hit his heart. He fell on the ground with a sickening thud.
Gerald's arms were draped around the two vampire's shoulders. He pushed them together and their foreheads slammed into each other.
A vampire feasted on a dead wolf. I grabbed my sword which I accidentally dropped without noticing and aimed it right into the vampire's spine. Crack. The vampire howled in agony and plummeted onto the ground, utterly paralyzed.
A shrieking noise filled the air. I followed the sound and my gaze landed on a vampire, losing control of himself. Flames started to jump out of his hand and crash against the cold field, the leaves of the trees and the bushes nearby.
The fire and smoke whisked together and its scent rose up the night air. I scanned the crowded battlefield, the war was very focused with blood and death. The corpses flat on the ground, reeked with odor and it lingered above to dance with the scent of scorching flames lighting up the dark.
The predator easily preyed on the weak. I stood before the battle, watching the fight in flames. This battlefield had been brimmed with blood spilling, bone cracking, flesh tearing, agony, pleasure and purge all together. It ached my head and I staggered backwards, my backside landing against the floor.
"Snowdust!" He cried out my name and bolted for me. He knelt down and rested his palm on the small of my back.
"Are you hurt?" He asked worriedly.
"I'm fine," I forced myself to rise up on my feet. Gerald raised a hand to halt me.
"I can't risk you getting hurt," His eyes glinted with affection, care and sadness all together. "I don't want to lose you!"
"I don't want to lose you either! I won't let you fight alone. This is the battle of our lives. For the future of our family. I'm not giving up until it's really over." I shot him a stern look and he dazed at my solemnity. I stood up to my feet, stretching my arms. "Never giving up," I glared and pointed a finger at the raging war.
