Billy Hargrove: Do It For Me

A/N: this is not an X reader, in this situation, you are Billy's Biological younger sister. I know most people don't agree but I think we should've redeemed Billy. Also, future chapters may spoil Season 3

I remember the first time our dad hit Billy

He was ten and I was six

We were playing in the backyard like we always would but then me and Billy got into an argument about... something stupid probably

He pulled one of my pigtails and I ran into the house crying. I told our dad what he did and he walked over to Billy. I had noticed my dad was drinking something beforehand. Scotch? Whiskey? I didn't realize it back then but my dad was probably A bit drunk. He has been drinking more and more ever since mom left.

He pulled Billy into the room and closed the door behind them. There was a tiny bit of the door opened that I peeked through. That's when I heard my dad start to yell at Billy, and suddenly, he slapped him across the face.

He started walking out and I scrambled across the room. Once he went back to his chair I went and found Billy

When I saw him sitting silently on his bed I burst into tears

"I'm sorry Billy," I said sniffling "I wouldn't have told Daddy if I thought he was going to hit you. I promise I never will again"

Even though he was still in pain he gave me a soft smile "It's alright Spud. I know you weren't trying to hurt me"

We played Monopoly the rest of the night. When my dad started yelling at the TV Billy would turn up the radio loud so I couldn't hear him

I never told on Billy again

I was eight and Billy was twelve when our dad met Susan

He never talked about wanting to be in a relationship again. One day he just brought her to our house with a ring on her finger

He said "Susan here, is going to be your new Mommy"

Then he brought a little red-haired girl out from behind him "And this is Maxine, your new sister"

"Max" the girl muttered barely making eye contact

"Y/N you and Max will share a room" he finished I shrugged not finding it a problem

Billy was mad though. Dad hadn't even told us he wanted to date again and he was already going off and getting engaged to this woman we didn't even know

He stormed into his room slamming the door behind him.

I led Max to my room- our room and showed her around. We sat on the bed and looked at each other

"Sorry about Billy, he has a temper nowadays," I say fiddling with the bracelet on my arm

"It's okay, I just don't get why he's mad," she says shrugging

"Well, our dad never told us he was seeing anybody right now"

"Really?" Max says looking at me

I nod and she furrows her brows "You don't seem upset though"

"That's because Billy knew our real mom. She left before I could get any memories of her" I say playing with my bracelet

"That sucks"

"I know right" I chuckle

She hesitates but lets out a laugh anyway

"You wanna read some of my Wonder Woman comics?" I ask looking at her in anticipation

"Sure, I love Wonder Woman"

Later that night I snuck into Billy's room

"She's nice Billy!" I say, fitting my feet into the squares of his carpet

He groans messing with his pen "I'm sure she is"

"Then why didn't you introduce yourself?"

He abruptly sits up "Because out of nowhere he brought this lady into our home and said 'Kids I'm going to marry this woman even though this is the first time you've never met her and I don't give a shit about your mom' what do you want me to do, bake her brownies and tell her my fascinating life story?"

I look at the floor "Billy, Mom left us"

"No! She left him because he was pushing her away! She didn't leave us! She didn't leave me!" He yells "You didn't even know her!"

I let a tear slip from my eye and I was about to leave

"Y/N wait," he says and I turn to see his head in his hands "I'm sorry, I'm just mad. Not at you..."

I pull our signature mint tin out of my pocket. Whenever we fight, when one of us apologizes, we give them a mint to show we forgive them.

I walk over the place a mint on his knee then walk out and go back to my room
