Julie and I were once again hanging out with the guys. What was once a fully functional band practice I was sitting in on turned into a competition to see who could hold things the longest. The current record was Alex who held a bag of rice for 3 minutes and 56 seconds.
"Okay, okay, what should we try to pick up next" Luke asks us.
We pretend to think about it for a second before Julie exclaims "One of you guys should try to pick up Y/N!"
I shake my head "No way, I'm too heavy"
I feel myself getting picked up from behind and I let out a yelp. The person adjusts me into bridal style and I realize I'm being held by Reggie. He looks down at me.
"Nah, light as a feather to me," He says grinning back at the group. I look away from everyone, blushing.
Julie gives me a look, while the boys chuckle.
Luke shakes his head "Of course you can lift her"
"Reggie was the only one who was involved with any sports outside the band. When we were in high school he was on the baseball team" Alex informs me and Julie nods.
"Quick start the timer I wanna see how long I can go" Reggie nods at Luke.
Luke starts the timer.
"Drop me and you'll die all over again Reginald" I glare at him, but he just smiles at me which makes me smile too.
After five minutes we realize he's probably not going to drop me anytime soon so he just sits on the couch still holding me to see if I pass through him at some point.
"Guys I'm hungry" Julia whines "Let's get pizza and try to see if you can eat again"
Alex shrugs "I'm down"
Luke nods "Me too"
I start to get up when Reggie pulls me back down. I let out another yelp which makes the others turn around.
"Reg? Come on what about pizza do you not understand" Luke says with wide eyes gesturing to the door.
He shakes his head "I'm still trying to see how long I can go"
Alex rolls his eyes and Luke furrows his brow.
"Okay? See you guys in a bit... I guess?" Luke says and they all walk out, Alex shaking his head and Julie teasing me when Reggie wasn't looking.
We sit there for a moment in silence before I look at him. His left hand is playing with the one wrapped around my waist and his eyes are focused on them. His jaw is clenched and something about the look in his eyes concerns me.
"Hey Reggie," I say quietly.
He hesitates for a second and looks at me.
"Yeah?"
"Why do you think I haven't passed through you yet?" I say, focusing on his eyes.
"I-I don't know maybe..." He starts and trails off, breaking eye contact. He takes a breath and looks at me "Maybe it's because I don't wanna let you go"
I smile and Reggie looks at me with a lot of uncertainty.
"Can I tell you a secret?" I whisper.
He nods and looks the other way.
I pull his face towards me and press my lips to his. He seems shocked at first but then he starts kissing me back. His lips are soft, like really soft. And he tastes good for a ghost. Things started to get a tad more heated until we heard a loud cough at the entrance of the garage.
We immediately pull away and I hide my face in his shoulder.
"So this is what you meant by 'how long you can go' Reg " Luke says, giggling with Julie while Alex just grins.
"I had purely scientific intentions" Reggie replys bashfully.
I raise my brow at him "Really? That felt more like magic than science"
He laughs too and the team sits down around the table. The night was filled with a lot more laughs, pizza, and maybe a few more kisses.
